The regional PS&RA managers assure in depth knowledge of the PS regulatory landscape in their region. They manage their teams that contribute to the RA processes (Expert group and Shared service). Some of them have an additional role as SMU business partners
The regional PSRA manager is responsible for securing compliance with chemicals legislation and internal company rules of all products and services in the region. The heart of which consists of providing safety data sheets, labels and transport information and determining if all registration requirements are met to allow selling the products in the market. This includes taking care of the implementation of the Export Controls obligations for the region.
·         Provide support and advice on Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs matters of the business units in the region.
·         Expert knowledge of the chemical control legislation applicable in the region.
·         Review and develop working procedures and communication lines towards the rest of the organization to improve efficiency and adapt to external changes.
·         Coordinate advocacy and lobbying activities in the region through participation in networks and trade association meetings.
·         Provide input in the AkzoNobel Product Safety and Product Stewardship programs.
·         Manage the regional team by actively supporting (and participating in) the team development.
·         Ensure a high service level provided by the team.
·         Organize the work in the PS&RA team to ensure a balanced workload, back-ups for critical specialisms and continuity of the work during absence of individual members.

Additional Objectives / Accountabilities
The business partner is the linking pin between the centrally organized PSRA team and the customer focussed Strategic Market Unit (SMU). This role is critical in ensuring that customer and business needs are met and understood by the central PSRA team now and in the future.
·         Develop a good understanding of the business and customer needs in the SMU
·         Understand which key regulatory topics are affecting the SMU
·         Be able to support customers with presentations for their sustainability and regulatory matters
·         Be able to translate complex regulatory requirements to practical implications for the business
·         Support the impact assessment of regulatory changes for the SMU
·         Provide input in the strategic decision making on future developments in the SMU
·         Ensure that an appropriate portion of the work of the central PSRA team is dedicated to the SMU
·         Assure efficient cooperation with key persons in the SMU to understand their needs and implement changes effectively from both ends
·         Support building a long lasting relationship with key customers by showing the benefits of the AkzoNobel Product Safety and Product Stewardship program
·         Ensure that the AkzoNobel Product Safety and Product Stewardship program continually meets the customer requirements
