Key Objectives of Position
The person in this role  is responsible for providing the US Region with manufacturing and storage capabilities outside the region's manufacturing footprint in order to solve technology, capacity, or efficiency constraints based on market demand.
This person will assume o verall responsibility for the activities and product flow in tolling operations. A key objective of this role is to provide high service levels at competitive costs and at a satisfactory HSE/Responsible Care level. Tolling contracts set-up shall assure that AkzoNobel rules and policies are followed in respect of Quality, Product Stewardship, Health, Safety and Environment. 
Functional Responsibilities/Network
- Monitoring and safeguarding that the toll producer follows the work and HSE processes stipulated in the tolling contract incl. transport documentation and labelling etc. 

- In cooperation with production and supply chain organization establish short and long term need for toll production of certain products.

- Utilizing ALPS sourcing methodology, establishes competitive contracts with toll producers/warehouses, specifying special requirements such as raw materials, package, storage, delivery conditions, and prices.

- Ensures production scheduling activities for key tollers utilizing supply chain tools such as SAP and Arkieva 

- Ensures audits at tollers are completed according to schedule 

- Investigates and solves OFI’s related to tollers 

- Provides tollers with the IT and communication tools as required

- Creates and manages the classification of external supply relationships and defines operating arrangements of each, i.e. Tollers, Contract Manufacturers, Suppliers, etc.

- Ensures tolling strategy and activities are aligned with OWC and cost goals, together with supply chain setting appropriate safety stocks, stocking policy and service levels (Delivery Capability and OTIF)

- Ensures consistent business processes for all tollers/warehouses

- With cooperation of the sBU technology manager, ensures that Intellectual Property issues related to tollers are handled according to BU policy. 

- Develops and performs annual (or as needed) “make vs. buy” analyses and makes recommendations on cost or efficiency savings changes 

- Interfaces across all supply chain functions as well as across other departments in the region and BU 
- Internal network includes Technology, Manufacturing, Finance, Global Segment Leaders, Regional Sales Managers, Account Managers, Regional Supply Chain Managers, Demand/Supply Managers, Customer Service Managers, Purchasing, and Production Schedulers 

- External network includes Tollers, Contract Manufacturers, and Suppliers 

- Participates in strategic projects to optimize manufacturing network

Overall personnel responsibility
- Responsible for creating a stimulating working climate including good communication and information both within and between departments. 

- Responsible for carrying out performance reviews according to the P&D Dialog concept including career discussion and for clarifying the link between performance and pay. 

- Dual responsibility together with the subordinate for competence development of each employee and for the balance between the individual's performance and well-being. 

- Responsible for involvement and motivation of employees, for setting individual objectives and to clarify the steps that need to be taken to reach the regional targets. Ensures timeliness and quality of the work within the department. 

- Assures that the operation is carried out according to HSE&S and labor laws & regulation, Akzo Nobel corporate directives and standards and according to internal policies and procedures. 

- Responsible for applying the AN Business Principals within the department.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or similar discipline. MBA a plus 
- 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Procurement, or Supply Chain related field, with some of that being in the Chemicals industry 
- Solid understanding of supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, and business processes
- Ability to work in and promote a team environment and manage to strict deadlines 
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills 
- CPIM certification or equivalency a plus 
- Experience in SAP a plus 
- Ability to communicate and present to management
