AkzoNobel Performance Coatings has an outstanding opportunity for a Business Development / Services Manager in our Vehicle Refinishes division. 

This is a remote position with the ideal candidate being based out of any major city in the US.

Key Objectives of the Job:
The Business Development / Services Manager will work with the Sales Segments Management team to develop, implement and provide the strategic direction for our commercial value services offering to the core customer segments we support. The Manager will be responsible for relationship building, continuous improvement initiatives and strategic sales support in targeted segments. Their core focus will be primarily

1) Working with select customers (distribution and direct) to offer consultative services on profitability improvements and cost savings initiatives
2) Conducts business reviews and evaluations with nominated customers providing both financial and operational analysis and recommendations.
3) Support Strategic Selling Process as needed
4) Driving organic growth and margin improvement within existing accounts.

Responsibilities:
• Develops, in cooperation with Sales Segments Management Team the commercial services strategy and plan covering Commercial, Sign, Trade and Fleet segments as needed
• Create and maintain business development services and support tools for the field staff to use to assist customers with profitability improvement and achieve the Sales Segments objectives
• Working with select customers (distribution and direct) to offer consultative services on profitability improvements and cost savings initiatives
• Conducts business reviews and evaluations with nominated customers providing both financial, technical and operational analysis and recommendations.
• Identifies and creates competitive advantages to increase sales
• Ongoing analysis of competitors service propositions including pricing and strategy analysis to identify areas of strategic advantage
• Coordinates with other Sales & Technical Segments Managers the ongoing support and service of accounts that span territories and market boundaries
• Leverage relationship at Strategic Accounts to uncover and develop other sales opportunities
• Successful alignment to customers – aligns perspective to the customer’s to ensure that the concerns of the customer are understood and addressed and overall customer satisfaction is achieved. Create and maintain client relationships through building trust and loyalty.
• Provide training and consulting methodologies to the field that will improve the quality of Services delivery and increase capacity to deliver these services to a greater number of Commercial customers.
• Provide educational forums on industry trends, regulations and technologies by monitoring associations, governmental data, and industry activities. Be an active participant in trade shows and associations to aid in developing new business.
• Insure that the company and management have comprehensive understanding of factors influencing the industry, market trends, and evolving customer developments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred, High School Diploma with equivalent experience will be considered.

• Minimum 10+ years experience in a sales, consulting or project management role within the commercial coatings or commercial vehicles industry required.

• Experience in any of the following commercial vehicles areas is a plus: fire and rescue, recreation (VR), trucks, buses, train builders and commercial vehicles builders such as fire truck, specialty vehicle, trailers and tankers, as well as repairers and refurbishers.

• Prior experience within a manufacturing environment focusing on continuous improvement les initiatives and/or lean principles preferred

• Prior experience serving in a consultative subject matter expert role helping clients grow their business through cost improvements and cost savings initiatives.

• Proven ability to identify business opportunities and develop appropriate strategies and relationships that deliver sales results within a diverse and challenging business climate.

• Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with key decision makers at all levels at customer accounts and internal management.

• Excellent project management experience required.

• Must be self-motivated, results driven and customer-oriented.

• Must be able to travel approximately 60-75% of the time.
