AkzoNobel Performance Coatings has an outstanding opportunity for a Trade Sales Manager in our Vehicle Refinishes division.
 
This is a remote position with the ideal candidate being based out of Chicago, Dallas, Charlotte, Atlanta, Troy or any major city in the US.

Key Objectives of the Job:
Manage a defined sales territory through effective market planning and time management, includes management and leadership of assigned Territory Sales Representatives and distribution partners. The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving annual sales/volume growth and territorial profit margin objectives. They should have a clear focus on sales team management and development

Responsibilities:
• Works in conjunction with the Trade Segment Manager for the budget and forecasting processes, to include region/market sales strategies and plans
• Manage a number of Territory Sales Representatives (5-6) to achieve their territory budget and business plans by maintaining current accounts and selling new accounts.
• Coach, provide feedback, and assist sales staff to ensure individual and team goals are achieved.
• Mentor direct reports through Performance Development and Dialog process to ensure a full understanding of each employee’s capabilities, development opportunities and career path.
• Have extensive knowledge and ability to be the sales leader most capable on the team to explain and teach the features and benefits of Akzo Trade products & services.
• Resolves conflict between distributors and enforces territory assignments.
• Have a complete understanding of all warehouse distributor programs, including discount hurdles, annual supply agreements, etc.
• Promote the continued development of multiple relationships (3x3) between Akzo staff and customers.
• Manage the expense budgets, company assets & equipment utilized by their field staff.
• Manage the timely and accurate completion of all CRM input and reports to manage customer and sales data.
• Manage staff to adhere to all Akzo health and safety policies at all times in daily activities.
• Manage all Akzo team members with professional respect and consideration at all times.
• Interviews, hires, trains and appraises employees including the administration of rewards and discipline. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college preferred, minimum High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 5 + years proven track record growing sales with experience and aptitude for consultative selling.
• Minimum 3+ years in vehicle refinishes or related industry.
• Minimum 3+ years of sales management experience; prior experience managing a sales team.
• Prior experience meeting and / or exceeding sales goals.
• Strong communications skills; oral/written, presentations, public speaking and one to one negotiations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, driven, self-starter and work independently.
• Able to travel approximately 75% of the time.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
