AkzoNobel Inc.–has an outstanding opportunity for a Regional Logistics Development – Sourcing Manager. The Regional Logistics Development – Sourcing Manager is accountable for development & implementation of the optimal Logistics (warehousing & transportation) footprint across the Business areas / units in region North America to ensure uninterrupted and timely supply against optimum & benchmarked costs based on business requirements.

This position can be remote but preferred location at Chicago, IL or Cleveland, OH sites.

Specific Tasks:
- Development of a coherent regional Logistics plan aligned with the Logistics Strategy and the individual BU/SMU logistics requirements
- Exploit synergies by leading the regional cross Business Unit logistics network(s) identifying, developing and implementing the optimal AkzoNobel regional logistics footprint
- Manage all regional logistics commercial/sourcing activities, delegating to regional or ready to serve level as appropriate (RFQ, contracts etc.)
- Recognized sourcing expert in a specific logistics mode or category coordinating best practice across multiple regions
- Ensure Logistics tools & processes are used in the ‘ready to serve’ arena
- Raise the logistics capability across the region
- Recognized global expert in a specific process coordinating best practice across multiple regions
- Lead the continuous cross Business Units assessment and benchmarking to identify logistics improvement opportunities
- Provides risk management support for (or leads) the implementation of Logistics change projects
- Logistics Category Specialist, Sourcing & contract management of global flows (i.e. sea/air freight/ courier)

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Minimum of 5 years logistics and/or transportation experience
- Master degree, Supply Chain or other relevant discipline or equivalent qualification
- Strong analytical & interpersonal skills and ability to influence and guide others
- Ability to work at all levels of the organization
- Must be able to travel upwards of 50% of the time
- Experience to implement, manage and optimize large (Logistics) change programs in the region
- Logistics market knowledge and identification of external developments
- Skilled in communication in the English language in writing and spoken word
- Stress resistance, flexible, problem solving attitude with a strong focus on results
