Build and manage long-term customer relationships for a leading global organization

AkzoNobel’s Salt Specialties business is Europe’s major supplier of vacuum salt. Vacuum salt is the purest form of salt and meets the high quality standards demanded by diverse sectors including Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture, Distribution, Food/Industry, Water and Retail.

Your mission in this role is to expertly build and manage long-term customer relationships for Salt Specialties as we consolidate and build our position in Germany, one of our most important markets.

Is this a task that matches your skills and ambitions as a committed sales professional? Are you independent, flexible and result driven? Can you interact with different functions and stakeholders across our matrix organization (Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Services etc) in order to meet the needs of our customers in Germany? Above all, do you have the strong motivation and outstanding customer focus necessary to make a real difference within our dynamic and multicultural business environment? If you offer all this and more we invite you apply for the position of Sales Manager Salt Germany.

AkzoNobel creates everyday essentials to make people’s lives more liveable and inspiring. As a leading global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals, we supply essential ingredients, essential protection and essential color to industries and consumers worldwide.

The role and its responsibilities
This is an interesting and highly responsible role for a true Sales professional with a long-term commitment to building strong customer relationships within a sophisticated international organization. You will join a team of three other experienced Sales Managers, and operate in a geographical region bounded roughly by Cologne to the south and Hamburg to the north, with further activities in the Netherlands. Traveling regularly, you work from home in Germany or the Netherlands, with a formal office base in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

Thus you observe and report market conditions, competitive activities and product demands. You enter and track all this information, as well as leads, opportunities, and customer developments, in the Customer Relation Management database. Based on this information you develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for your portfolio. You also generate commercial recommendations to support our Marketing and Sales strategy. This requires you to prepare and evaluate customer meetings as you demonstrate a good understanding of customer related sales, net revenue and contribution margins. At all times you focus on delivering the highest levels of customer service so that we establish solid and long-term relationships with our customers.
