The Pulp & Performance Chemicals business in Marietta, GA has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate, competent Global Sales & Operations Planning Lead to manage  the product line Sales & Operations Planning cycle.  This includes oversight of the development of an Unconstrained Forecast, Supply Plan, Pre Executive Meeting and Executive S&OP Meeting.  In addition, they will be responsible for ensuring inputs and analysis are provided in a timely manner and communicated properly to the correct participants before and after they key meetings.  This role will also play a key role in roll out of the Arkieva S&OP toolset and AkzoNobel Leading Performance Systems Plan Processes associated with S&OP.
 
This position reports to the Director, Global Supply Chain and will work closely with Global Marketing & Sales, Regional Sales, Regional Supply Chain Mangers, Production Planning and Internal/External Logistics group(s).   A fair amount of travel (33%) domestic and international will be required due to global location of deployments. 
 
This position does not have any direct reports but is responsible for leading a process globally.

Principal accountabilities:
- Develop Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP)- Responsible for the delivery of a mid and long term (Monthly Outlook to 2-24 months) Sales & Operations Plan for the sites within their product line.
- Lead product line global S&OP cycle including (own and manage): Unconstrained Forecast Review, Supply Review, Pre-Executive S&OP and Executive S&OP meetings
- Actively drive to improve planning related activities across the globe, such as forecasting, process change-over reduction, inventory reduction/levelling, reduced scheduling effort and increased production efficiency
- Evaluation of trends to identify potential supply and inflationary risks
- Calculation of key S&OP related metrics (Forecast Accuracy, Production to Plan, Inventory to Target)

- Maintains Systems and Processes- Support the development, documentation and implementation of global standards for S&OP at all levels in the business
- Act as product line lead for implementation of Arkieva planning software in relevant business line

- Communicates the plan and reports performance- Collection and summarization of inventory forecasts and forecast accuracy
- Monthly collection, analysis and distribution of inventory, forecast and accuracy analysis
- Preperation of presentation materials and supporting analysis for all relevant Sales & Operations meetings
- Performs any additional ad-hoc analysis deemed necessary and within scope of the S&OP horizon

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor’s degree, (MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management preferred) or equivalent work with 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing (planning and inventory control).
- Strong Excel and advanced planning software experience
- Customer focus, detail oriented
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel and Powerpoint
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to work in a team oriented environment
- Strong level computer skills to prepare statistical reports and run optimization programs
- Ability to creatively solve problems while maintaining a timely and cost effective approach
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
- Fluent in English
