The Business Analyst will contribute to the execution of the sales, expense and profitability targets established by the BU within the region and assigned global segments / Key accounts by conducting analyses targeted at the improvement of the operational and financial effectiveness of the regional business. The Business analyst leads or contributes to improvement projects defined by the commercial finance management. The business analyst is a business partner of assigned regional and global segment leads located in the region as well as assigned global key account managers.

Key Objectives

• Development and execution of improvement initiatives and embedding them
• Maintain and develop pricing models and margin management tools
• Review the commercial output from SAP/BW, arrange entries and improve the System and/or process

Business partner to commercial organization
• Extracts financial data from various accounting and information systems and performs financial analyses of business figures.
• Executes (part of) the standard Marketing and sales reporting for the region (including sales performance, M&S costs and Accounts Receivable related reports)
• Partners with assigned regional and global segment leads and key account managers to provide analytics for the global segment to drive growth, control cost, overdues and payment terms.
• Challenges performance and forecasts of M&S manager and works with them to develop a coherent and feasible commercial plan
• Drives the forward looking culture by developing leading KPI, incorporating external trends and understanding the impact of KPI and trends on the relevant segment
• Investigates and drives a discussion on understanding the revenue drivers of the segment (i.e. what creates demand for our products)
• Performs SWOT analyses on our positions vs the revenue drivers
• Executes regional improvement plans and drives the agreed actions to completion
• Executes the commercial financial planning cycles for the region within the guidelines of the regional commercial manager
• Performs cost benefit analysis related to business projects and/or programs and assists in the development of business proposals (Specifically Top X projects, regulatory related investments, eg REACH)
• Key User Business Warehouse and/or Arkieva. – providing first line support for other users as well as interact with IM in the development and maintenance of the system which may include projects, testing and continuous improvement

Development and execution of improvement initiatives and embedding them
• Executes projects and initiatives from the Commercial Finance program together with Marketing and Sales function:
i. Standardized, harmonized processes
ii. Standardized reports / KPI’s
iii. Establish / become part of commercial review cycle
iv. Implement parts of the commercial excellence program

Maintain and develop pricing models and rebate contracts
• Depending on the situation, develops or maintains pricing models & Tools for either key raw materials or pricing for customers (e.g. formula pricing Monsanto)
• Maintain or develop rebate contracts with sales team and arrange any bookkeeping necessary to accrue the rebate.

Review the commercial output from SAP/BW, arrange entries and improve the System and/or process
• Assists in the development of Business Warehouse / Arkieva
• Maintain sales master data(Segment/Application/sales manager mapping/global parent/distributors) in the system SAP/BW/Arkieva/CRM
• Review and correct product derivation rules
• Assist Customer Service when errors are encountered
• Confirm entries for sales of service are posting to CM in sales stats (e.g. Eka, Henkel, Eastman)
• Regional / Global Segment leaders, Key account managers
• Commercial Excellence team
• BU finance organization, and analysts in other regions
• Auditors, Corporate Staff (ATD, Treasury, Legal)
• BA IM and master data teams (SAP/BW )

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Bachelor in Business Administration or similar field of study
• At least five (5) years’ experience in a business analysis or financial analysis role
• Must be detailed oriented and driven with exceptional communication and influencing skills – ability to work across functions and different levels in the organization
• Advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office programs skills required
• Project management capability; PMP Certification a plus
• Previous experience with Arkieva and SAP (Business Warehouse) preferred
• Previous Big Four work experience a plus
