To lead the Stowmarket decorative production teams to deliver of all the business requirements on time, cost effectively and to the right quantity, whilst ensuring that the operation is carried out in line with company and legal HSE requirements.
·         Establish a structure and culture within the production teams that ensures the delivery of production requirements and allows people to develop the skills and knowledge required to support and deliver the Stowmarket site strategy
·         Ensure that all team members have annual training and development reviews, with a clear action plan that meets their development needs
·         Manage the prioritisation and delivery of training to the shift and day teams through the use of dedicated training resources and the experience within the team
·         Deliver full utilisation of the operator maintainer role within the filling area, in line with the expectations for the operator, maintenance and fault finding on the lines
·         Lead the teams to generate and complete actions identified following the annual engagement Viewpoint survey and deliver a year on year improvement in the annual employee engagement survey
·         Manage the performance of individuals within the team, ensuring that people are continually challenged and that the areas of poor performance are appropriately managed
Operational Performance:
·         Ensure that business weekly volume and SKU demands are fulfilled in order to achieve a service performance of >98.5% OTIF (specifically, Production OTIF is less than 98.5% for the max 6 weeks)
·         Deliver the budget operational performance against the KPI’s; ppl, RFT, BCT. MME, IRA and OPE
·         Control spend against the production budget including personal costs in order to flex spend in line with production demands and minimise overtime working through improvement. Is responsible for the production budget delivery in line with approved annual budget. 
·         Drives a lean CI program across all production areas, transferring best practices from another areas or businesses
·         Understands the capabilities and constraints on the assets across the site and optimizes the effective use of the assets to continually drive down operational costs   
HSE / Housekeeping
·         Set and deliver challenging operational standard for HSE and quality which as a minimum will ensure AkzoNobel and legal requirements are achieved and maintained
·         Establish a program of continuous improvement for safety, including near miss reporting, incident investigation, operational auditing (including PSM and SAQ), training and capital investment)
·         Ensure that measures are put in place and adhered to maintain the safe working environment for all
·         Continually improve the environmental performance of the operational through the reduction of water and energy consumption and reducing the volume of waste generated

Job requirements/Candidate profile

·         Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Engineering discipline or process driven professional experience/qualification.
·         NEBOSH certification or IOSH managing safely with relevant knowledge within the area of HSE.
·         Significant experience of production responsibility with demonstrated high standards of quality and asset care.
·         Significant experience of successfully implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing principles.
·         Significant experience of lean leadership and strategy translation (Hoshin).
·         Continuous Improvement certificated Green Belt, Black Belt or Lean Coach.
·         Demonstrated experience of sponsoring CI projects to deliver outstanding results.
·         Line Management and performance management experience.
·         Coaching training and experience.
·         Employee engagement and employee relations (including development of culture).
·         Project Management or Client User Representative experience.
·         Manufacturing knowledge and experience.
·         Quality compliance experience.
·         Experience of leading and managing change.
