Technologist II – 2 vacancies (One permanent and one temporary for 6 months)

£24,360 - £25,121 per annum

Having gained a relevant science degree you are now looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to develop your career. As a Technologist with AkzoNobel that is exactly what we can offer you.   We want you to join our Performance Coatings Research Function to gain fundamental understanding of coating science and generate innovative technologies in a business that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them.
As a Technologist you will support the investigation, design and application of new coating technologies, products and services.  This will involve you in experimental research activity using of state of the art materials, equipment and methodologies. You will help design and carry out experiments, evaluate and interpret results as well as report findings and make recommendations to stakeholders. Important will be the ability to follow procedures and work safely.
As you would expect, the standard of experimental work and technological development is high, so you must have a degree in a relevant discipline such as Chemistry. This will ideally be complemented by experience of working in a laboratory environment. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work to high standards and safely. Keen to learn new skills you will be comfortable working in a project team as well as independently. You will be an effective communicator who is able to manage a broad range of tasks too. You must also be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivers on commitments.
