Responsibility

As Site Controller you will contribute to the execution of operational excellence, expense and profitability targets established by the Management of Metal Coatings by proactive control of all financial aspects of the site operations. Our site in Hilden is one of our fast growing and key sites in Europe where you will enter a challenging role in a full change environment with great exposure and visibility in this international company. The site services mainly both the business segments in our Metal business (Coil and Pack) as well as our Wood business within the company, further broadening the scope of the role.
 
 
The main tasks and responsibilities are:
 
- Act as a full (financial) business partner to site management to deliver on the strategic agenda of the site
- Manage the local Finance team of 6 FTE (Accounting manager, Accounting employees and assistant Controller) and drive engagement and performance up
- Lead the team and site through major changes: transfer of operational Finance activities to a third party service provider and integration of activities post acquisition of  BASF operations in the Coil business
- Drive improvement in operations from a financial perspective / background
- Assuring that the facts are on the table and that decisions are well founded by- Reporting on key KPI’s and financial metrics
- Business case support
- Performance analysis in a structured and ad-hoc way

- Pinpoint performance gaps to Site Management and propose measures to deal with these
- Assuring that the financial data is reliable and under control
- Giving clear insight in the future profitability based on trends of key value drivers and insight in the business
- Designs, implements and secures the adherence to the authorization levels / financial procedures within the site.
- Monitors the adherence to the Business Principles and corporate Code of Conduct within all the units functioning on the site.
- Monitors the compliance to all binding internal and external legal regulations as well as initiates the necessary corrective actions.
- Maintains the operational forecasting and budgeting processes within the site.
- Implements the management control system for measurement of the KPI’s of the site.
- Prepares the business proposals / investment requests submitted for the approval by the (Regional) SMU Management Team.
- Explains financial data to the internal/external auditors visiting the site.
- Be familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations

Job requirements/Candidate profile

 
To be successful in this position you should:
- Hold a master degree in business, economics, finance or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably within an production environment.
- Experienced in managing a team
- Preferably experience with outsourcing operational finance activities and integration of activities post acquisition
- Be excellent in communicating, both in English and German (written and spoken).
- Have excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and great knowledge in the office package
- Have solid skills within SAP and good knowledge in SAP BI / BW and HFM
 
As a person you are action and results oriented, focused and have an analytical mindset. You are used to work in a changeable environment where you convert pressure to constructive solutions and improvements. You should be able to quickly navigate between high-level planning activities and hands-on tasks. To be successful in this position you need to be a good team player as well as self-going with speed and engagement.
