Business Area Decorative Paints
Our Decorative Paints business area adds color to people’s lives with a full range of interior and exterior decoration and protection products for the trade and consumer markets. As authorities on color we aim to provide all our customers – from professional decorators to DIY enthusiasts – with a great color experience and a fantastic finish. Our range includes paints, lacquers and varnishes, as well as products for surface preparation. Our extensive product range is marketed under international and local brand names including Sikkens®, Dulux®, Levis®, Flexa®, Trimetal®, and Cetabever®
 

Internship
The Global Expertise & Research Group Woodcare, Trim, Pre-Deco and Specialties fulfils an important function within our Decorative Paints R&D organization. Currently, the department has different challenging internship opportunities for Bachelor and Master students Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar scientific/technical discipline. You will be stationed in Sassenheim, the Netherlands. Duration of the internship: 6 to 12 months.
 

Responsibility
• You will work on specific research projects for new technologies and/or products in the fields of Woodcare, Trim or Specialties paints (wood or metal)
• You will work in the lab to explore and test these new technologies or coating formulations
• You will have the opportunity to design, execute and present your own project

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• On-going study to get a Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or similar scientific/technical discipline
• Curiosity to learn about our coatings and ways of protecting wood/metal
• Interest in lab work, paint formulations and other aspects of coatings
• Affinity for research work on new technologies
• Good communication skills (Reporting and presenting)
• Ability to work as a team player in the laboratory
• Excellent command of the English language (speaking and writing)
