·         Position to be held in the Global Interior Walls Expertise and Research Group (GIWERG).
·         Projects could include:
o   Delivering innovations to our customers, slurry and paint formulation guidelines from manufacturing process perspective,
o   Developing and testing new equipment and processes for manufacturing and assisting in their corresponding scale-up and plant trials
o   Performing testing to provide in depth understanding impact of raw material changes on manufacturing process
o   Test method development and maintenance to allow robust quantitative measurement techniques are available
·         The role will be lab based therefore good practical and laboratory skills will be required.
·         The role will require you to share experimental plans, data and conclusions with a variety of stakeholders via an assortment of communication mediums therefore good communication skills will be needed.
Excellent team working skills will support the delivery of the GIWERG’s vision within the wider R&D organization.
·         The role will involve working with a wide technical network which requires a strong team player to allow us to win together.
o   Technical network within the Global Interior Walls Expertise Group includes Design and Knowledge Management Team, Application Services Team and High Throughput Experimentation Team.
o   Technical network outside of the Global Interior Walls Expertise Group includes Global and Local Supply Chain organisations, Global Engineering and Innovations Group, Global Colour Expertise and Research Group, Product Development Centers, Local Technical Support Teams
·         Projects will be based around increasing the groups technical understanding of current and future challenges faced by DECO therefore a passion for excellence is ideal.
·         The role will require a drive to deliver on our commitments whilst delivering against the needs of our customer.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

·         Science degree (or equivalent) – minimum 2.1 (or equivalent), preferably in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
·         Previous experience of laboratory work
·         Relevant experience of paint formulating and testing an advantage
·         Relevant experience of assisting with scale-up and production trials an advantage
·         Working knowledge of statistical experimental design an advantage
·         Fluent spoken and written English
