- Develops and leads Sales agenda for the regional business
- Communicates and promotes the approved business strategy, actions, targets and budgets to the regional business functions and ensures cooperation across the functions to deliver on the strategy
- Delivers the CM and other targets like receivables and over-dues that are set for the regional business in a safe manner
- Contributes to the development & realization of the global market segment strategies in their respective region
- Analyzes and interprets the market dynamics in the region and forecasts Sales accurately for the region
- Develops commercial strategy, action plans and budgets translated from the overall strategy
1. optimizes a competitive product range and related services and support 
2. sets an adequate price and payment term structure in line with global policy
3. drives business growth
4. sets regional product improvement and proposes development programs
5. optimizes inventory levels, trade receivable levels and plant utilization
6. defines and communicates marketing support to the commercial excellence team

- Provide inputs for global R&D effort.
- Attracts, develops and retains talent for the Sales force, the technical sales force and customer service and drives engagement of the entire commercial team.
- Represents the interests of the region and BU both inside and outside AkzoNobel. Builds and maintains effective relationships with organizations and institutes which are important for the segments and region.
- Cooperates with other business units on shared accounts for the overall success of AkzoNobel

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor’s Degree, Science preferred, MBA is plus
- Minimum 10 years of business to business sales & marketing in Chemical industry
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to drive a performance based culture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be fluent in English
- Ability to build sustainable relationships with key customers on a strategic level
- Must be able to prioritize and effectively multi-task
- Continuous improvement mind-set
- Good project sponsorship skills
- Ability to lead multi-functional teams
