Key Objectives/ Principal Accountabilities :
- Act as a strong finance business partner for the Head of MSU through delivering value added analyses, support decision making, drive continuous improvement
- Drives margin management awareness, analysis and annual process
- Support and develops tools to support topline growth & performance measurement
- Create high quality budgets and forecasts for the MSU
- Develop and maintain the relevant MSU InControl & Compliance framework
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring model adherence
- Develop and embed quality of the function (people engagement and talent development)

- Specific MSU Contribution Margin vs budget & Y-o-Y productivity

Functional responsabilities / Network :
- The MSU Controller reports to the Director Cluster Finance DP NWE. The Controller will be the end responsible finance role within the local organization and will act as a business partner towards the local organization.
- Next to this the MSU Controller holds a dotted reporting line to the MSU Director.
- The local controller is part of the Local MSU leadership team and acts as a business partner towards the Head of MSU & other LT members
Job Context :
- This role is part of the Cluster Decorative Paints NW Europe with specific responsibility for the French MSU and is part of the local Decorative Paints business.
- Organizationally, the Controller will interact daily with the local team (such as the MSU Head, Marketing/Sales, local accounting, local Compliance & In-Control managers) and periodically with the Finance Organization of Global / European Headquarters.
- The role is also part of the DP NW Europe Finance team. Hereby the Controller will also steer cross MSU projects, share best practices etc.
- In addition, the controller will interact with the BPO in order to be able to review and sign reports prepared by the BPO (Decorative Paints Finance cooperates with a BPO provider, Financial Global Services, Finance Services and Service and Delivery Managers to achieve its goals which this function must be able to relate to).
- Focus on financial business performance improvement e.g. by implementing and ensuring repeatable models and standardized processes, high quality analysis and top quality insights to support decision making.
- Given the specific challenges in the France MSU, the role will be one of the change agents to support the French organization in its turnaround

Job requirements/Candidate profile

Resuirements for Job :
- University degree in Finance or Accounting and preferably an Executive Master of Finance and Control (Registered Controller) or CMA or CIMA
- At least 10-12 years of relevant work experience in Finance and Control of which at least 3 years in a people management position
- Excellent business partner skills and result oriented
- Experience in all areas in relation to business control (internal control, ERM, business performance improvement, measurement & financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, general technical and tax accounting, data mgt/tools & systems and decision support)
- Good analytical skills and able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to translate strategic plans into financial plans & performance measurement structure
- Strong people management and interpersonal and communication skills
- Change agent capabilities
- Ability to connect outside own function and across own organizational unit
- Excellent knowledge of the local language, both written and spoken. English is a must
- Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion, experienced with MS Office and preferably experience in Six Sigma or Lean and shared services (practical understanding of ERP and Finance systems & processes)
