In practical terms, that means our sustainable solutions are in your lives, and those of your friends and family, every dayWe are currently seeking an Manufacturing Support Operator for our Vehicle Refinishes Strategic Business Unit located in Pontiac, MI. Responsible include, but are not limited to:
·  Support HSE Manager in evaluating, developing and delivering safety related training to all Pontiac employees.
·  Using established channels (e.g., databases, journals etc.) monitor changes in the regulatory environment (e.g., OSHA, DOT, EPA etc.) as they relate to health and safety; provide reports to the HSE Manager, make appropriate recommendations, and provide support for changes to internal policies and procedures necessitated by new regulations. Assist with initiating a deployment plan and proceed with necessary upgrades.
·  Provide support for near miss and incident investigations through the Root Cause Analysis process; participate on investigation teams; follow-up on corrective actions as necessary and support the communication of "lessons learned" from incident investigations.
·  Support Pontiac HSE initiatives by scheduling and attending shift safety committee meetings.  Identify items requiring remediation and assist in applying approved HSE principles (engineering, administrative controls) to develop improvement plans.
·  Support meeting government regulatory requirements and company policies by maintaining records according to established systems and processes; this includes incident reports from the BU and BSU, and new hire training. Support continual improvement of the same systems and processes.
·  Assist with completion of the HSE key performance indicator data collection and reporting process.  Act as “back- up” authorized data entry person if needed.
·  Successfully participate in forklift “Authorized Trainer” program.  Provide remedial instruction to fork lift drivers as part of corrective action for fork lift violations as directed by supervision.
·  Participate in behavior based safety orientation and training and work with the Pontiac BBS team to assist them in execution of identified projects.
·  Conduct weekly/monthly/annual HSE inspections.  Identify non conformances, document findings, track actions to closure, document corrective action.
·  Prepare (consolidate/containerize/label) hazardous waste (daily) throughout site. Prepare all hazardous waste for weekly shipment.
·  Must be able to load trucks.
·  Assist with plant purchasing procedures (including SRM) and execute orders for necessary safety supplies.  Ensure that purchases are recorded in expense tracking.
·  Manage respirator protection program including fit testing employees.
·  Assist in managing the site security badge system and reporting requirements.
·  Other duties as required.

Job requirements/Candidate profile


- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Some college  preferred. 
- This position is entry level, however two (2) plus years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. 
- The candidate must be able to work different shifts as needed to support products
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.
- Prior experience driving an Industrial Powered Truck preferred, but not necessary.
