A dynamic and broad role for a proactive and analytical finance professional within an international supply chain environment
AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints (DP) brands are popular with consumers and professional users worldwide. Across Europe and Africa, this success is substantially based on a sophisticated Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) that incorporates 21 sites.
AN DP,  with the French brands Dulux Valentine, Sikkens, Julien, Trimetal, Hammerite, Levis, Astral, Coronna, develops, produces, distributes and sells paint, varnish and filler products to professionals and consumers. In France, we have approximately 1300 employees including headquarters and a production site in Montataire as well as 150 stores around the country.
Within this context your mission as supply chain controller is to optimize cost structures and create valuable insights in cost drivers to impact both fixed as variable costs. This requires you to analyze and process data as well as to interact with both people in the supply chain and marketing & sales organization.

The role and its responsibilities
The position is based at Montataire (just outside Paris), France, where you will be a member of the local management team and will be part of the ISC Finance network in Europe and Africa  You will act as a business partner towards the local manufacturing , logistic  organization and sales organization .
You are responsible for the accurate reflection of Cost of Goods sold of our products and give valuable insight in cost drivers in logistics to lower the cost in physical distribution and freight and into productivity drivers in manufacturing to reduce manufacturing costs.  
You actively support in creating high quality budgets and forecasts and in full understanding of the financial results in close cooperation with local Finance Manager. You support the supply chain manager of the manufacturing unit in understanding Material Efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.

In relation to improving inventory value and product allocations you also liaise actively with central costing and inventory controller and Central ISC Finance team to understand product cost prices and identify improvement possibilities.
At all times you embody AkzoNobel’s commitment to continuous improvement, identifying and driving improvements and analysis in the areas of systems, tools, processes and reports. You are active in deploying standardized ways of working and able to share and implement shared processes
In order to achieve all this you act as a sparring partner for the supply chain managers for both manufacturing and logistics in France, supply chain director of the region and supply chain Controller of the region

Candidate profile
To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:
- University/College degree in Finance or Accounting and at least five years of relevant work experience in Finance and Control, ideally in Plant Controlling or Business Analysis;
- Powerful analytical skills, able to balance multiple priorities and meet (recurring financial) deadlines and work independently within a monthly timeframe;
- Experienced in MS Office, specifically Excel and Powerpoint;
- Practical understanding of ERP and Product Costing, including knowledge of SAP (FI/PCA/COPA/CCA/BI);Strong interpersonal, presentational and influencing skills, including the ability to communicate across multiple organizational levels and countries/cultures;
- Be able to work independently on both monthly and long term timeframes.  
- Eager to improve, open for change and actively supportive of AkzoNobel’s high performance culture.
- Have high proficiency in the English and French language, both written and spoken.
- Regular shop-floor (in factory) presence is expected.
