What is the primary purpose of this job? Describe the 5-6 main objectives of the job and the approximate % of time spent performing each objective.
- Key member of BA Accounting organization of Specialty Chemicals in the region
- Assist Regional BA Accounting Manager, implement, and roll out changes/projects/improvements within the organization and also local finance (sales office, manufacturing plants) /FSSC’s (30%)
- Support, coordinate with local finance and FSSC in Month/year end closing process (20%)
- Balance sheet review with involved business units in the region (20%)
- Continuous improvement on the accounting process (closing, payment etc.)(20%)
- Other assignment (10%)
Describe the responsibilities as clearly as possible. Which tasks is the job holder responsible for and in what way? What results are to be achieved?
- Active interaction with the Reporting Units in the region for financial reporting and Accounting subjects
- Supports in an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, hard-close and year-end-financial closing for the entities in the region
- Maintain and share with the entities the set-up of the financial reporting – and general ledger structure for both IFRS and statutory reporting
- Support in organizing accounting activities in the region, implement and adhere to timetables for month-, quarterly-, for the BU’s in BA SC
- Active interaction with the COE / FSSC (Centre of Expertise / Financial Shared Service Centre) about accounting subjects, transaction processing and performance
- Advises in handling of (non-)routine financial reporting transactions
- Implement interfacing improvements between the SAP system and HFM
- Implement SCOA/WebFEM changes
- Support the reporting units in reporting- and documentation for Transfer Pricing
- Support in reporting and solving intercompany differences
- Supports reporting units in completing tax/financial and operational audits
- Further standardization of accounting procedures in the region
- Provide training to new and existing accounting staff as needed
- Participation in improvement projects
- People management skills: driving and engaging the people management agenda

- Professional Accountancy/Financial reporting Qualification (Master/Bachelor’s Degree) Experience in Finance (7-10 years)
- Team worker, flexible
- Organizational skills, planning workload, setting priorities to meet the deadlines.
- Knowledge & understanding of HFM and the AkzoNobel Financial Reporting process
- Familiar with IFRS and WebFEM
- Knowledge & understanding of SAP(FI/CO)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint software
- Good command English
- Strong communication skills(presentation)
