We are looking for a
Communications Manager (m/w) Internal Engagement DACH  

based at our German headquarters in Cologne. This is a fixed-term position (Oct 2017 – May 2018).
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing internal communication strategies that drive AkzoNobel’s internal engagement and help to transform AkzoNobel employees into true ambassadors of the brand
- Reaches out pro-actively to the AkzoNobel sites in the market to provide support and makes sure the execution of internal engagement programs is deployed in line with the overall guidelines
- Team up and engage with internal stakeholders from HR, Finance, Marketing, RD&I and Operations to generate relevant storytelling and campaigns that support the deployment of the AkzoNobel strategy and drive engagement
- Act as the local point of contact for AkzoNobel’s internal engagement function to encourage story generation and storytelling and share best practices with the global network
- Liaises with the Internal Engagement functions at Group and Business Area level to align channel strategy, share best practices and identify synergies (such as shared platforms)
- Monitoring and measurement of the results/outcomes of all internal communications activities in the market
- Follows and implements trends and best practices in internal communications, engagement and change communications
- Manages the local editorial calendar, together with the rest of the Integrated Communications team, to make sure local activities will be aligned with the global editorial calendar.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

Your qualifications:
- University degree with exceptional writing and presentation skills (fluent in German and English)
- Experience in working in an international matrix organization and comfortable with building relationships with key internal stakeholders across the company
- Experience with complex communication issues and project management
- Good understanding of new internal communication techniques, internal social engagement platforms and the ability to translate these into locally relevant engagement opportunities
- Proven ability to manage and implement both national and global internal engagement and change communications programs, with a proven track record of digital campaigns and execution
- Team player with an open and energetic attitude, easy to shift between tasks and responsibilities who can work independently as well.
