Responsibility

This position is a newly created role with BUPC.  The qualified individual will have worked in a similar capacity as to help create the scope of the role for the organization.  Prior experience within RCCP, MPS, Make to Stock (MTS), Late Point ID (LPID), Statistical Modeling, and Replenishment Parameters (Safety Stock, Order Modifiers, replenishment fences, and time horizons) are a requirement for this role.
 
Principal accountabilities
 
S&OP: The Regional Supply Manager will work within the S&OP process to review RCCP across the producing plants and work with the Regional Demand Manager in the regional S&OP session to resolve supply/demand unbalances in an effort to optimize the production capacity and contribution margin.  Product relocation, allocation, and monitoring are all expected outcomes during an unbalance period.  The qualified individual will have joint leadership responsibility for the regional S&OP meeting.
 
MPS:  The Regional Supply Manager is responsible for determining the desired inventory levels for finished goods of produced product or trade goods down to SKU level including safety stock levels and Order Quantities. The qualified individual will work to determine the most appropriate replenishment method for each SKU.  The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory and optimizing cost. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the plant with a rolling production plan in SAP working with the Production Managers to align the plant unit availability and schedule with the sales forecast within planning horizon.  Monitoring of process order On Time, In Full (OTIF) metric will be required to assess quality of plan.
 
The Regional Supply Manager will be responsible to arrange the replenishment plan from local site to other AkzoNobel affiliates throughout the world under push/pull model as part of global network planning.
 
MDM:  The Regional Supply Manager will be responsible for the process quality of master data management in SAP.  The qualified individual will be responsible for the process quality of NUSAP (new SKU creation) implementation within the management of change (MOC) procedures on all products within their region by having a close partnership with Manufacturing.
 
Continuous Improvement:  The Regional Supply Manager has to lead initiatives focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of planning processes throughout global supply chain organization.   Initiate process mapping, training, auditing and refresh training, accountable for supply chain process standardization and optimization.   Support IM function to implement new IT tool or system to ensure supply chain process improved.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

  Required:
·        At least 5 years’ experience in a planning job in an international supply chain environment.
·        Prior experience as Supply Manager or Master Scheduler
·        Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management
·        SAP Experience
·        Ability to travel up to 25% of time
 
Preferred:
·        Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook)
·        Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS a plus.
·        Production planning experience in the chemical industry with batch and continuous production
·        Excellent data analysis skills
·        Excellent communication and inter-cultural skills
·        Personality showing initiative and drive, stress resistant, change agent, strategic view.

Job Context (the Nature & Scope of the Business)
 
·        The role is part of the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization that is responsible for supply chain planning and logistics.  The GSC organization is part of the Integrated Supply Chain organization, which is part of the BU Polymer Chemistry in Cross Linking, thermoset, peroxides and polymer additive, metal alkyls and HPMO markets.
·        The objective of supply chain planning organization is to assure on time in full supply to customers against the lowest cost within operating working capital guidelines.
·        Polymer Chemistry produces metal alkyls, organic peroxides and polymer additives, which primarily are used as initiators and co-catalysts in the production of polymers. The main applications are in polyolefin production (polyethylene and polypropylene) and thermoset plastics, cross linking in plastic and rubber. We also sell high purity metal organics to the electronics industry.
·        Polymer Chemistry is headquartered in Chicago, with regional centres in Europe and Asia and has over 1600 employees worldwide.
