Responsibility

Purpose:

To assist regional marketing manager to deliver profitability and growth for North Asia (China, Taiwan, HongKong, Japan and Korea) region through effectively supporting segment market planning, strategy, development of sales objectives and promotional initiatives.

 
Top 5 objectives as follows;

1. Monitor and analyzing the market segment trends (20%)
2. Explore ways of improving our offer from products and services to increase profitability incl. new product development drive in the segment (30%)
3. Support regional marketing managers to identify target sub-segment, develop strategies and plan/execute tactical actions (30%)
4. Execute competitors’ products and services analysis in the segment (10%)
5. Contribute to successful marketing promotional planning and campaign delivery in liaison with sales / technical / product & market specialists. (10%)

 
Responsibilities:
0. Analyze market data to identify the segment opportunities by sub market segment
1. Research non-buying / buying customers in contract chains in the segment in order to understand market / industry needs and customer requirements
2. Support the regional market manager to create detailed regional market segment tactical plans and execute prioritized actions in line with market planning and strategies
3. Co-develop the marketing campaigns and communications plan as a supporting part of regional segment tactics with sales and marketing specialists
4. Liaise with sales teams to track our performance in the segments – market share in segment, share of wallets in each KA accounts and new account developments, project wins/losses with root causes and corrective actions
5. Monitor our existing product portfolio (vs competitors’ offer) in the segment
6. Drive new projects via ICP to deliver innovative products to the segment  for future
7. Facilitate the creation and execution of marketing promotion plans for NEW PRODUCT launches with the support of the regional market support - product and marketing specialists.
8. Create new offer presentation (internal & external uses) and segment introductions with resonating sales script/pitch to fit with chosen customer segments
9. Update focus product sales and success stories in the segment ie) focus product case studies, landmark project / best practice sharing
10. Provide proper segment and focus product trainings to internal & external audience
11. Gather Industry coatings standard / regulations trends and government initiatives in advance as a part of market intelligence activities
12. Feed the latest capex, project pools/pipelines and market trend to sales & management
13. Collect and study competitors’ products, services and relevant communications activities to put ourselves ahead of competitions
14. Report segment performance with focus product highlights to managements

Job requirements/Candidate profile

Job Requirement:

1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing or chemical engineering
2. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a job in the paint/coatings industry or oil and gas downstream markets
3. Must be able to travel 30% of the time
4. Technical background is highly preferred
5. Excellent data analysis & planning skills
6. Excellent teamwork / cross-functional teams work
7. Good at reporting documentation
8. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
9. Good Learning attitude with curiosity
