About AkzoNobel

AkzoNobel is a leading global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals, with leading market positions and brands in countries around the world. We operate in a number of important market segments ranging from buildings and infrastructure to transport, industrial and consumer goods. We’re also the sector leader in sustainability and are number one in the renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Index. In practical terms, that means our sustainable solutions are in your lives, and those of your friends and family, every day. We’re the people that make it possible for you to do what you need to do.

Within this context you perform a number of core activities:
Analysis and Reporting
This is fundamental to our Sourcing policy and involves gathering and assessing data with regard to specific functional or geographical activities. The analysis of both historical data and the current situation is important as you work closely with colleagues within both Sourcing and the relevant Business Units (BUs).
This analysis leads to detailed reports in which you make recommendations that will improve our procurement processes. You then work to implement new strategies and standardized processes, while monitoring and benchmarking the performance of suppliers.
At all times, you are encouraged to provide ideas and input for the overall improvement of our organization and process.
High level planning
You play a lead role in developing and implementing programs and processes such as Key Supplier Management and the development of Strategic Sourcing Strategies. In doing do, you work closely with the Spend Area Managers and BU Purchasing Managers.
You are also involved with developing and implementing price forecasts and mechanisms for raw material and non-product related materials and services, while providing advice on the impact on spend areas. The development and standardization of tools for the Sourcing community is key.
