Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job

•       Culture: Establish a site culture of functional and operational excellence,  accountability, professionalism and commitment to company values, value, and standards
•       Task: Plan, lead, organize & control the delivery of the site’s contribution to business objectives and overall performance in terms of HSE&S,  service and quality, costs, human resources and community stewardship
       -Lead an operational excellence agenda by coaching & teaching functional excellence in all areas
       while achieving sustainable improvement in the safety, reliability, productivity, quality, and
       Eco-efficiency of the site operations
      -Establish performance standards for the site & lead continuous improvement
      -Implement site management systems or processes
      -Develop & manage human resources
      -Design, install and safely maintain assets
      -Procure and effectively use materials and services
•       HSE &S: Establish processes to understand, look for and respond effectively to hazards  in safety, health, security and environment, taking account of people, plant, community and procedures
•       Individuals: Select, develop and coach team members who are capable of and fully involved in achieving the task. Also establish and enforce minimum personal performance standards for the site
•       Team: Build a team which collectively is  capable  of and fully involved in achieving the task
•       Community: Oversee relations with external stakeholders to ensure the company values and license to operate are sustained
. Responsibilities

•       Business: As a member of the business team, contribute  to the formulation of business objectives from an operations perspective and ensure site capabilities, constraints and HSE considerations are incorporated into business planning
•       Operations: As an Operation manager of site, Network with other site managers inside and outside of Akzo Nobel to develop knowledge, experience and leverage best practice
•       Primary contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for communications outside of the site. In addition to maintaining close contacts with internal Akzo (Sales, Marketing, Technical Services, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Legal, direct BU/SBU Management and other BU’s ) the site manager also is the primary point of contact responsible for maintaining good relationships with all external bodies (media, governmental and regulatory officials, community and business leaders, customers, association of chemical industry)
•       Project Management: As site Project Manager, assume accountability of CAPEX and project execution.
