Responsibilities: 
Provide technical support to manufacturing in the resolution of production problems, introduction of new products, waste reduction and process improvement.


o Perform Root Cause Analysis on chronic product problems and implement corrective/preventive actions which result in meeting plant goals.
o Identify, design, coordinate and statistical evaluations utilizing the ASQ Body of Knowledge. This will include MSA, DOE, Capability Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis.
o Provide quality and manufacturing support as required to meet specific program needs.
o Assist in developing and implementing the plant wide Quality Management System (QMS).
Assist in specification development and/or changes as requested.

Product Improvement:
Product quality improvement/waste reduction
Determine root cause of internal and external non-conformance.
Develop appropriate CA/PA.
Implement actions resulting in quality improvement and cost reduction.

Process Improvement:
Develop and improve processes for new and existing products.
Optimize process run conditions and document.
Work in cross functional teams to implement new product processes.
Coordinate proper equipment needs to achieve process efficiency targets.
Data Analysis:
Monitor/analyze key process parameters and product characteristics.
Review data logger information for abnormalities
Utilize data based decision making methodology.
Utilize current databases and develop new ones to capture data and improve data efficiency.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Four year Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering required.
• 3-5 years experience in a Quality Engineer or Process Engineer role in a manufacturing environment required.
• Strong skills in Root cause analysis, waste reduction, and efficiency improvement desired.
• Certified Quality Engineering certificate preferred. Six Sigma certification a plus.
• Microsoft Office application proficiency including capabilities in Access programming. Use of Minitab in data analysis.
• Prior experience with film coatings, chemicals, lamination, injection modeling or thermal modeling is a plus.
• Strong demonstration of presentation skills.
• Familiarity with ASQ Body of Knowledge.
• Able to be on call (24/7) as needed
• Able to travel approximately 25% of the time
