An experienced field sales professional, ideally with a background in the coatings or corrosion protection industry, you are looking to develop your career in a business that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. That business is AkzoNobel. We’re looking for a skilled sales representative to build market share and increase profits through developing additional business with existing customers and by winning new accounts.
 
As Sales Representative with a proven track record in the selling of protective coatings and/or corrosion protection solutions to the our main markets such as onshore and offshore fabrication yards, upstream and downstream oil and gas facilities, bridge fabrication and maintenance and original equipment manufacturers.
 
You will manage your territory and ensure sales volumes and profit targets are delivered in line with our business plan. This will mean maximising sale opportunities within existing customers as well as identifying and winning new accounts. This will involve working closely with management to formulate an action plan/growth strategy for your area including developing contact strategies, extending customer penetration for our products, increasing market intelligence and building relationships to gain new business. Important will be the ability to monitor and report effectiveness against targets as well as deliver customer service levels that ensure the market continues to use AkzoNobel products above all others. There is also a strong requirement for a time served professional with a good technical grounding, preferably qualified to at least a basic level of NACE or Frosio.
 
As a commercially astute sales professional, you know how to develop sales plans, create contact strategies and deliver sales activities that meet customers’ needs. Target driven and a hunger for that sale you must also possess excellent negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills. Good at monitoring and providing management reporting you will also be familiar with maintaining CRM systems. You will need a full driving licence and be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivers on commitments. Experience of sales in the marine leisure or paint industries would be an advantage but is not essential.
