Do you have the discipline and focus to drive fact based business in order to deliver on strategic priorities? Can you envision the end goal and arrive there by taking others along a clearly defined road map and quantifying cost/business benefits over time? Above all, can you make a real difference within our dynamic, multinational and multicultural business environment?

If you offer all this and more we invite you to apply for the role of

Global Automation Technology Manager

The role and its responsibilities
Ideally, this role will be based at the AkzoNobel Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. From here you oversee a portfolio of projects that run simultaneously at locations globally, assisting sites with hands-on support and acting as the focal point for all aspects of automation and linked digital technologies, including towards the ISC Leadership Team.

This requires you to establish a governance model to ensure that the Automation Strategy linked with our Digital Strategy is followed across all manufacturing facilities. This model must align with key KPIs for productivity, material/energy efficiency, quality and capacity generation. You also ensure that digital technology projects run according to the AkzoNobel ICP stage-gate process.

At all times you work closely with ISC’s Advanced Manufacturing and Projects & Engineering (AMPE), which includes Automation and Digital Technology and with an IM function that runs advanced SAP data capturing solutions. Together you establish a plan for hardware, software and functional standardization in order to deliver business benefits.

Within all projects you execute ‘Proof of Value’ (PoV’s) projects on a small scale and align with SMUs and local stakeholders to prepare go/no-go decision for BA wide standardization. You also map all current Automation and Digital Activities and drive this portfolio forward.

On an ongoing basis you assess the marketplace for external best practices, working with AMPE to establish and maintain a network of local peers and stakeholders to promote knowledge sharing. You also maintain a database of functional design standards and best practices for Automation and Digital Technologies.
