Manage a defined sales territory through effective market planning and time management, includes management and leadership of assigned Territory Sales Representatives. The Sign Sales Manager is responsible for achieving annual sales/volume growth and territorial profit margin objectives. They should have a clear focus on sales team management and development.
- Manage a number of Territory Sales Representatives to achieve their territory budget and business plans by maintaining current accounts and selling new accounts. 
- Coach, provide feedback, and assist sales staff to ensure individual and team goals are achieved.
- Mentor direct reports through Performance Development and Dialog process to ensure a full understanding of each employee’s capabilities, development opportunities and career path.
- Have extensive knowledge and ability to be the sales leader most capable on the team to explain and teach the features and benefits of Akzo sign products & services.
- Resolves conflict between distributors and enforces territory assignments.
- Have a complete understanding of all distributor programs, including discount hurdles, annual distributor Supply agreements.
- Promote the continued development of multiple relationships (3x3) between Akzo staff and customers.
- Manage the expense budgets, company assets & equipment utilized by their field staff. Works in conjunction with the Sign & Trade Segment Manager for the budget process and region planning activities.
- Manage the timely and accurate completion of all CRM input and reports to manage customer and sales data.  
- Manage staff to adhere to all Akzo health and safety policies at all times in daily activities.
- Manage all Akzo team members with professional respect and consideration at all times.
- Interviews, hires, trains and appraises employees including the administration of rewards and discipline.  Addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (required and preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college preferred, minimum High School Diploma. Minimum 5 years proven track record growing sales, with at least 3 in Refinish or related environment with experience and aptitude for consultative selling.
- Ability to operate and communicate effectively with all customers from senior management through to body shop technicians
- Financial analysis skills, ability to understand balance sheets and business management propositions
- Excellent communications skills - in writing, presentations, public speaking and one-to-one negotiations,
- Strong personal motivation, willingness to learn and adapt to different business priorities,
- Clean driving record and ability to pass background screening.
- 75% Travel between the US and Canada.
