  Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job:
The Asset & License Manager sets the strategic direction and critical conditions for effective asset and license management. The Asset & License Manager is responsible for managing all available software/licenses within GBS-IM globally and the involved suppliers to ensure high level of service, alignment with the business strategy and compliance with legislations and organizational policies. The Asset & License Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of technology-related hardware within the organization.
The Asset & License Manager reports to the Service Integration Manager. GBS IM Services is the global service delivery unit within GBS, under the responsibility of the GPO IM. GBS IM Services is responsible for the (End-to-End) IT services provided to the BU/Bas and the end-users across the globe. This group is responsible for simplifying, standardizing, globalizing and automating processes. A large part of the service delivery activities is sourced to external strategic partners. This implies that the GBS IM Services unit is largely dependent on the performance of and cooperation with these partners.
·         Defines the strategic direction of License & Asset management and ensures that the value of license & asset management is understood by all stakeholders within GBS IM

·         Develops, implements and continuously drives optimizations in the License & Asset management process in close cooperation with the GPO IM

·         Develops and implements License & Asset management processes with suppliers.

·         Determines the standard policies, procedures and work instructions for License management.

·         Drives the professionalization and optimization of License & Asset management.

·         Responsible for planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with (License) vendor contracts.

·         Is mandated to enforce compliance and enforce repair activities related to software compliance.

·         Works with the information available from the SIAM platform.  As functional owner, develop, implement and further enhance/optimize the License & Asset Management platform including responsibility for the management of the suppliers (and related contract(s)) involved in this platform via the Domain Manager SIAM

·         The License & Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control & compliance throughout their lifecycles

·         Develop, implement and maintain a charging model and structure in close cooperation with the GPO-IM and execute the charging of the software/licenses to the customers and users.

·         Regularly reports out to relevant stakeholders on the license position per software product including signaling potential risks and optimization potentials and financials

·         Supports IM Projects & Programs in during the project stages to the identification of License & Asset requirements, identification of procurement activities needed with Contract & Vendor Management/Sourcing and support the project team in developing the optimal charging mechanism
- Manages and organizes periodical License audits conducted by software suppliers/vendors, including developing the right strategy per audit in cooperation with Contract & Vendor Management/Sourcing/Legal, and driving the actions to collect the required data

Interaction with other departments
- Build trusted relationships with the business and colleagues from both GBS IM and IM departments
- Share experiences across communities of practice on innovative approaches in knowledge sharing and knowledge management
- Support the designated Contract & Vendor Managers in managing global license/asset and vendor relations to agree the most strategically advantageous commercial license arrangement
- Management of the suppliers (and related contract(s)) involved in the used platform via the Domain Manager SIAM
GBS / generic
- Collaboration with peers in the end-to-end service chain
- Together with the Manager Infrastructure Delivery Management, create a single end to end service for Service Delivery Managers.
- Pro-actively contribute to the operational integrity of GBS operations globally through continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Actively seeks alignment and cooperation (‘shoulder to shoulder’ mindset) with the other GBS domains

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Master/ bachelor degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study
- 5 years’ experience required in a similar role in a complex international environment
- Demonstrated capability in implementing a Hardware and Software Asset Management frameworks and related software tooling (ServiceNow, SNOW)
- Demonstrated capability in managing software licenses and assets
- Demonstrated knowledge about license structures of major vendors, including Microsoft and SAP
- Demonstrated track record in optimizing License & Asset Management processes and driving optimizations in usage (cost-reductions)
- Good understanding of AkzoNobel Business environment
- Experiences with IT/License audits
