1.       Actively manages the allocated product group as a portfolio in line with agreed branding rules and hierarchies.
2.       Ensures that the product group matches customer needs and supports the development of new or replacement products and manages their launch into the linings segment; manages the withdrawal of unwanted or obsolete products as appropriate.
3.       Works with Segment teams to develop product strategies and implement these with global selling teams
·         Contributes to linings segment planning process: is responsible for product lifecycle analyses, product competiveness, product gaps analyses
·         Creates relevant value propositions for customer segments in accordance with the segment plans.
·         Works with regional lining leads & sales personnel to understand customer needs
·         Actively manages products as a portfolio, bringing in new products and regularly eliminating obsolete products as and when appropriate
·         Identifies new product customer needs and creates specification for new products in liaison with R&D
·         Can assume project leader role for product development projects in the Stage Gate process
·         Ensures effective planning, communication and progress of both new product development and NPL activities
·         Assures the timely launch of new products into the market and follows approval processes
·         Support regional linings leads by answering product questions and with customer visits
·         Implements brand strategies to ensure optimal product positioning and value creation.
·         Maintains and manages the product range to ensure compliance to customer specifications
·         Support lab work request process by advising regional marketing on product request.
·         Creates sales arguments for products including competitive comparisons
·         Ensures that relevant product information is provided to the sales team.
·         Provides ideas for product positioning to broader product management community.
·         Contributes to the creation of best practices in product management through the BA
·         Be familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

·         Education: University Degree Graduate in Chemistry. Background in inorganic acids preferable
·         Experience: 12+ years working experience in R&D or commercial environment, with Polymers, Laminates or Speciality Coatings
·         Skills:  Very good English, good analytical tools and business analyses skills, good knowledge of MS Office and Customer Relationship Management System. Developed communication skills, both written & oral including presentations
·         Personal Profile Requirements:
o    Combination of technical and commercial understanding
o    Essential to have excellent level of communication skills
o    Good networker with good people skills
o    Proactive, robust and pragmatic approach
·         Travel: International travel will be required. Expected not to exceed 30%
