• Distinguish various materials and their usages in the process (carbon steel, titanium, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, fiberglass, teflon, PVC, CPVC, etc.)
• Assist in the assembly, installation and removal of chlorate cells and jumpers
• Assist in the assembly of heat exchangers, the replacement of belt filters, and filter cloths (flat and sock).
• Perform lock-out / tag out, line breaking, confined space, etc. by procedure with proper documentation
• Assist in the removal, overhaul, installation and alignment of pumps, gear reducers, couplings, belts, sheaves and other rotating equipment
• Perform basic steel and sheet metal fabrication
• Perform basic pipe fitting and installation procedures
• Perform common rigging with the aid of specific instructions and average supervision
• Lubricate equipment using proper materials and techniques
• Operate cutting torch and plasma cutter
• Weld common materials in flat position (carbon steel, etc.)
• Properly use technical measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, laser alignment, etc.)
• Work / communicate directly with operations management to efficiently perform plant maintenance
• Perform area PM's and complete documentation

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma / GED
- 2+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing facility is preferred
- Ability to read and write and communicate in English 
- Must know how to operate common shop tools (drills, saws, grinders, impact, etc.)
- Must have basic understanding on the principals of electricity  
- Ability to operate plant mobile equipment (forklift, manlift, carry-deck, grade-all, etc)
- Ability to read and understand indicators (pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature gauges, volt/amp meters, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret process and equipment documentation (loop sheets, blow-up diagrams, troubleshooting flowcharts, etc)
- Possess good work record including job performance, attendance and must readily accept all job assignments 
- Possess the desire to remain technically current
