Responsibility

The Pasadena site manufactures organic peroxides which are sold to major manufacturers of thermoplastic resins such as PVC, LDPE, polypropylene, EPS and acrylic resins.  Organic Peroxide products are hazardous, mainly due to temperature controlled transportation and handling.  The Pasadena site also manufactures thermoset and crosslinking peroxides, as well as toll produces optical monomers.
 
This position is responsible for capital management, month end process, inventory management and support to improve productivity (fixed and variable) and OWC reductions.   In these areas, this person is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and directing all activities and functions.  Position has contact with all levels of management as well as customers, vendors, and independent accountants.
 
Main Objectives:
·                Support capital investments. This includes capital reporting, engaging with project leaders and support for capital projects.
·                Perform Product Costing activities and BOM updates / NUSAP. Report inventory.
·                Projects to improve processes on site which create visibility in coach and to follow up on these projects.
·                Rendition for property taxes and other government request (MA10,000)
·                Participate in L6S projects
·                Support for budget
 
Health, Safety, Security and Environment Specific Responsibilities:
 
·         Understand and help implement the Pasadena Functional Chemicals Site Operating Policy and Objectives which includes ISO/RC 14001.
·         Be aware of potential environmental impacts in your area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs.
·         Be aware of potential health, safety, security and environmental impacts in area of responsibility and the actions required should an issue occur
·         Understand and implement any parts of the Pasadena Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that apply to your area of responsibility.
·         Participate in the site's on-going Pollution Prevention Process.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 5+ years of relevant business experience or a Bachelor’s Degree combined with additional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, MBA) and a minimum of 3 years related, functional business experience.
• Specific knowledge of the chemical industry and/or background in manufacturing is desired.
• Strong analytical, conceptual thinking and influencing skills required.
• The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff is required.
• Excellent computer skills required. Especially proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, business intelligence systems and ERP software (desired SAP knowledge).
• Must be an independent self-starter with a high level of confidence and a critical approach to matters.
• Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
