- HSE-responsibility for the section group. Responsible for that the operation is carried out according to HSE&S and labor laws and regulations, the AkzoNobel corporate directives and standards and according to internal policies and procedures.
- Management responsibility for the RD&I section group for cleaning and PCI.
- Responsible for establishing and follow up of the group budget and for taking corrective actions if budget is not met.
- Overall responsibility for development and technical service work within group.
- Responsible for creating a developing working climate including good communication and information both within and between departments.
- Initiate new development projects with business manager and acts as a project leader for projects within RD&I.
- Ensures timeliness and quality of the work within the department.
- Responsible for carrying out performance reviews incl. career discussion and for clarifying the link between performance and pay.
- Responsible for involvement and motivation of employees, for setting individual  objectives and to clarify the steps that need to be taken to reach targets.
- Support for the local production and product management.
- Initiate proper co-operation between local and global colleagues.
- Actively promote the third party cooperation, to strengthen technical capability of AkzoNobel.
- Need to understand mega-trend of industry, make a prompt and effective actions based on resource.
- Needs to understand the major customer concerns regarding AkzoNobel products/technology in the focused industries.
- Trend scouting for new technologies and regional trends.
- Responsible for applying company and BU’s strategy and principals within the department.
- The compilation and maintenance of records that will provide objective evidence of continuing compliance with the management system including the AkzoNobel corporate directives and standards.
