Our Surface Chemistry manufacturing site in Morris, IL has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate, experienced professional to assume the role of Reliability Engineer. The Morris site primarily produces Fatty Amines which are used in many industries, uses for the nitrogen derivatives include fabric softeners, oil field chemicals, asphalt emulsifiers, petroleum additives, mining, and others.

The mission of the Reliability Engineer is to drive continuous improvements of reliability and continuous reduction of maintenance loss by systematic elimination of Bad Actors. Accountable for elimination of Bad Actors, monthly reduction of contribution of top 10 to total costs and OEE Loss. Accountable for availability of relevant reliability tools and training level of users.

• This position will lead, implement, sustain and build the Reliability strategy and improvement program at the Morris Site to minimize the risk associated with unexpected failures in a manner consistent with business needs.
• Contribute toward the development and implementation of continuous improvement programs including utilities optimization; keeping abreast of Industry codes, practices, standards, and best practices In the Industry.
• Participate in all plant safety processes and compliance with Life Saving Rules.
• Provide equipment reliability Input for Process Hazard Reviews and other HSES studies as needed.
• Provides technical support to optimize PM such as RBI (risk based inspection) plans,
• Provides technical support to perform equipment criticality analysis, FMEA as well as Maintenance Effectiveness Analysis.
• Develop, Oversee, and Implement the reliability strategy and plan for the site.
• Track and report key performance indicators from the reliability program.
• Drive reliability performance using the most appropriate and effective tools and techniques
• Manage PM programs, historical trends, and l• Communicate PM scope changes to the Planner/Scheduler for inclusion in SAP.
• Continuously improve Maintenance efficiency and costs through improved equipment reliability by monitoring performance and addressing failures and trending bad actors.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies to Include predictive and preventive maintenance systems (vibration analysis, lubrication oil analysis, motor circuit evaluation, corrosion monitoring, thermography, equipment laser alignment, steam trap monitoring, etc.).
• Develop Maintenance procedures to improve equipment reliability/efficiency and minimize repair cost.
• Provide troubleshooting support to operating units on equipment reliability Including emergency work reviews.
• Facilitate Root Cause Analysis problem solving efforts, including- the bi-weekly maintenance Root Cause Problem Solving session
• Lead disciplined and systematic equipment maintenance strategy development efforts.

• Perform monthly equipment bad actors” analysis creating action plans for increasing reliability, and monitoring performance vs. expected results of the changes from the action plans
• Review and analyze data from inspections for information on equipment reliability issues at the request of maintenance engineers
• Ensure capture and analysis of maintenance data and equipment work histories to support work of maintenance engineers
• Work with Maintenance Supervisor on follow up from completed work packages
• Identify and promote skills training for departmental personnel to support the reliability strategy
• Participate In all incident investigations as required and report all Incidents within the plant ' s required time frame.
• Support and lead other Engineering Projects as assigned and those resulting from reliability improvements.
• Provide Reliability Input to Engineering group for equipment design, specification and purchase,
• Develop and implement departmental procedures that either need to be improved to further support reliability program or need to be created.
• Other duties as required.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Chemical Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years ' experience in the areas of Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability in a chemical or Petro-Chemical manufacturing site
• Demonstrated ability to create, implement and drive sustainable reliability improvements within a plant site
• Experienced at developing Predictive Maintenance program
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, MiniTab, PowerPoint
• Proficient in performing Root Cause Analysis, Failure Analysis and Problem Solving
• Proficient in analyzing data and trends
• Must have excellent Interpersonal skills Including the ability to communicate effectively with operations, technical, mechanical/electrical maintenance technician
• Knowledge/experience using Six Sigma tools and methods preferred
• Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance preferred
