Key Objectives & Accountabilities
s the leader for a team of 11 recruiters and coordinators (growing to 13) focused on our Performance Coatings (PC) business in North America, you will be responsible for creating and delivering a high quality, cost efficient and timely recruitment strategy and services for our PC business in North America. You’ll first work with the Talent Resourcing (TR) Manager for North America to implement global Talent Resourcing initiatives in the areas of employer branding and onboarding. You’ll help shape  the design & development of global policies and programs by sharing local know-how and legal perspectives and assume complete responsibility for your team at the start of 2018 (complete Talent Acquisition control).
Main areas of responsibility:

- Develop a Regional Talent Resourcing strategy in line with our Performance Coatings (PC) business priorities and the overall global plan
- Direct line management for a team of PC business-aligned recruiters to ensure delivery of business hiring objectives, including allocating and monitoring workload to ensure quality performance within assigned policies, procedures, systems and processes
- Provides support to the LCoE Manager and teams in implementation/roll out of new programs
- Work with TR Manager, North America key HR and business leaders to develop and understand workforce plans for areas supported, and develop impactful recruiting strategies
- Personally manage the end to end recruitment delivery of senior level vacancies in the business
- Set channel and segment strategy for the PC businesses in North America. Understand internal and external talent channels and be able to manage both
- Manage & engage key senior stakeholders and work collaboratively with TR Manager for North America, other CoEs and HRBPs to deliver aligned solutions so that improvements are delivered to the PC businesses operating in the region
- Increase sourcing capability within region to increase direct hiring. Ensure the development comprehensive networks and pipelines of talent within designated niches or functional specialties
- Assist in the management and assessment of our Preferred Supplier List (PSL) and third party vendors
- Structure external labour market intelligence, such as market trends in support of workforce planning and sourcing.  Partner with local HR to support workforce planning & setting strategic external pipelining priorities
- Contribute to the design and development of global initiatives, providing input based on local needs, knowledge and best practices
- Implements global programs locally related to EVP, onboarding, fast track and graduate recruitment
- Proactively support the AkzoNobel Diversity and Inclusion ambitions and ensures that local recruitment practices are reflective
- Ensure local processes are legally compliant and manages associated reporting requirements
- Personally manage the end-to-end recruitment of senior vacancies in the PC business and PERM positions as well as internal movements from other countries for roles that are not competitive, advising & partnering with hiring managers on the most suitable route to attracting & selecting candidates, delivering the agreed solution

Job requirements/Candidate profile


- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) ideally in Management, Business Administration,  Psychology or HR
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in HR and/or Talent Acquisition / recruiting
- At least 4 years in an in-house (corporate) Recruitment management role, leading teams of 6 or more people
- Ability to create successful recruiting programs for both exempt and non-exempt levels
- Proven people management & leadership experience
- Proven experience building recruiter capabilities in a corporate setting
- Experience in working with online applicant tracking systems (preferably Taleo)
- Experience in building, managing and engaging talent pipelines
- Proven track record in identifying, selecting and commercially negotiating with external partners
- Have ambition, drive and the capability to grow to a next level
- Proven experience in changing mindset and reputation of an in-house recruitment team
- Able to take tough decisions and lead with integrity
