The Pulp & Performance Chemicals business in Marietta, GA has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate Supply Planner to provide management and maintenance of the supply plan and schedule for the region to determine the lowest cost source of supply to the customer base.  In addition, they are responsible for ensuring effective translation of demand inputs (forecast and sales orders) into an achievable production plan for their product group in their region.  This position will also play a critical role in the success of the implementation of Arkieva planning software their product group within the region.
This position reports to the Regional Supply Chain Manager and will work closely with the S&OP Analyst for their product group, Regional Sales, Customer Service, Site Production Planning and Internal/External Logistics group(s).
Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job:
Develop Mid and Short Term Supply Plan to regional sites

- Initiate and execute short and medium term supply optimization from given customer demand and plant cost and capacity structure and communicate to the organization.
- Develop and provide plants with weekly/monthly supply plan
- Evaluate business opportunities with the help of an optimization tool
- Responsible for the delivery of a short term (weekly outlook to 6 weeks and Medium Term (Monthly Outlook to 6-12 months) production plan for the sites within their region.
- Ensure that inventory stocking policies are followed
- Actively drive to improve planning/scheduling related activities in the plant, such as process change-over reduction, inventory reduction/levelling, reduced scheduling effort, increased production efficiency, labor load levelling, accurate delivery date quotes, and provision of real time information to customer service and the plant.
- The Supply Planner will have responsibility for ensuring that their plants are effectively scheduled. They may need to perform scheduling tasks for plants that do not have a dedicated scheduler.  These include:- Utilize SAP and Scheduler to convert weekly supply plan into an efficient production schedule for all production vessels at the facility, having a full understanding of existing and future capacity and constraints from a production perspective, and a good understanding of how production capacity can be flexed to meet demand
- Communicates the schedule in daily production meetings
- Rearrange schedule to address new or emergency requirements as needed and/or due to deviations between actual production and scheduled production.
- Works in close cooperation with Production Supervisor, S&L Supervisor, and the Maintenance & Facility Manager to ensure optimized performance of the site
- Update Scheduler routings and other necessary Master Data in SAP or MES to reflect changes in actual observed plant performance to ensure effective scheduling

Regional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)

- Responsible for inputs into the Supply Plan for the S&OP and then development of a Production Schedule resulting from the S&OP output.
- Evaluation of trends to identify potential supply and inflationary risks

Communicates the plan and reports performance

- Prepare presentation materials and supporting analysis for regional supply meeting
- Collection and summarization of inventory forecasts and forecast accuracy
- Collection and summation of system (customer, in transit and in plant) inventory
- Monthly collection, analysis and distribution of inventory, forecast and accuracy analysis

Maintains Systems and Processes

- Support the development, documentation and implementation of global standards for inventory management at all levels in the business
- Act as regional lead for implementation of Arkieva planning software for their product group

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor’s degree, (MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management preferred) or equivalent work with 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing (production scheduling and inventory control).
- Strong Excel, ERP and/or advanced planning software experience
- Customer focus, detail oriented
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel and Powerpoint
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to work in a team oriented and matrixed environment
- Strong level computer skills to prepare statistical reports and run optimization programs
-   Ability to creatively solve problems while maintaining a timely and cost effective approach
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
- Fluent in English
