AkzoNobel Inc.–has an outstanding opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Specialist. The primary function of the Continuous Improvement Specialist is to drive People Services global process deployment, initiate local process development and improvement, coordinate cross-functional initiatives amongst internal groups, COEs and HRBP groups, and identify gaps. Take the lead in continuous improvement projects to improve operational efficiency & effectiveness.
 
Key Objectives
- Act as process owner with focus on standardization, streamlining, and optimization of processes in North America business units to include Human Resources, Finance, and Operations.  Will provide support in process related harmonization, continuous improvement and standardization projects.
- Ensure processes are compliant with US/Corporate internal control and audit requirement, as well as US Labor Law and related regulations.
- Drive global process deployment, initiate local process development and improvement, coordinate cross-functional initiatives amongst internal groups, and identify gaps. Take the lead in continuous improvement projects to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build and drive the continuous improvement agenda; define and drive opportunities to streamline processes. Act as change agent to support business transformation activities and deliver operational excellence projects/programs.
 
Responsibilities
- Lead operational process standardization and optimization projects to ensure consistency and quality of service delivery, in line with global process model.
- Identify gaps and areas for improvement on existing processes and conduct process review and case-study/scenario-based analysis to support continuous improvement projects.
- Communicate and provide relevant process training within business units as well as with the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) community.
- Responsible for internal and external audit on operational processes. Ensure compliance with government regulations and compliance to global standards. 
- Take ownership to validate and improve operational process maturity, developing new local procedures and processes (in line with global process model) to ensure service level agreements are met.
- Facilitate operational process review (across teams) and its integration and alignment with the Center of Excellence (COE) teams and Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) community.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Finance, Operations Management, or related field required. 
- 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, Finance, Operations or related field in a large multi-national company.
- 2+ years process improvement, data analysis, and systems review experience required.  Must have solid understanding of Human Resources functions. 
- Must be knowledgeable of Six Sigma methodology and tools.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and related business technology.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, mature communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer service mindset, and project coordination skills.
