AkzoNobel Inc.–has an outstanding opportunity for a Regional IC, RM and Compliance Officer. The Regional IC, RM and Compliance Officer will report to the Regional GBS (Global Business Services) Lead and work together closely with GBS Controller/ Compliance and GBS Global In Control Officer. From the GBS Control Officer he will get professional instructions to work on in the Region. The role requires excellent and efficient communication skills. Important stakeholders with whom you will have frequent contact are the Internal Control Focal Points within GBS, GBS Management, the GPO’s, Internal Control BA Other and the Internal Audit department.
 
Specific Tasks:
- Facilitate GBS regional delivery lead to design a robust delivery model that ensures internal control, risk management and compliance in all GBS service delivery.
- Drive the maintenance and execution of risk management, internal control and compliance throughout the GBS Regions to ensure that RM, IC and compliance policies and frameworks, guidelines and standards are fully implemented in the GBS regional organization.
- Drive implementation of concrete control measures (based on GPD Risk and Control Matrix documentation and IC Templates)
- Define and implement the regional control measures where GPD risk and control matrix documentation is not in place (e.g. IMPEX, NPR Functional Spend etc.)
- Monitor and follow-up on the execution of the control measures
- Liaise with the local, country GBS contacts on the implementation of standard automated and manual (mitigating) controls
- Manage and execute the In Control Self-Assessment (CSAT) and Audit coordination
- Monitor the follow-up on action to close deficiencies
- Quality review over implemented actions and self-assessments
- Ensure proper progress reporting of In Control and Internal Audit deficiencies
- Implement the SoD in systems and assure standard role implementation
- Involved in additional or changed automated controls or BSL
- Work together with local GBS contacts on implementation
- Train and coach the GBS local staff on new Internal Control and controls (awareness)
- Align with Audit department on findings and follow-up
- Contact person for BA Other Internal Control / Functional Controller for the GPO
- Prepare / be present in the Quarterly Attestation calls

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Master's degree
- Minimum of 8 year of experience in the area of Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Preferably the candidate has experience with Shared Services processes and controls
- Willingness to travel
- Process Thinking. Problem Solving.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Ability to provide coaching and communicate in regards to internal control, risk management and compliance to senior managers and all levels of the organization who do not have relevant background
- Excellent verbal and written language skills
- Pro-active, results-oriented and customer oriented approach
- Demonstrated high level of integrity
- Has a very ‘hands-on’ mentality and highly developed analytical skills
- Possesses excellent IT related skills (General IT systems, SAP, SAP GRC) MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint and MS project.
- Expert on “end to end” business processes, internal control and risk management for all functions and their interdependencies.
- Has experience with SAP Access Control and SoD monitoring
- Experience with COSO framework
- Willingness to further develop knowledge and experience with administrative organization and internal controls
- Have the ambition to develop skills on Internal Controls, Risk Management and Compliance in a rather short period of time
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to work in a diverse and multi-cultural environment
- Drive for professional and personal excellence
