AkzoNobel Inc.–has an outstanding opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager – P2P. The Accounts Payable Manager – P2P will indirectly manages the Purchase to Pay tower (P2P) and FTEs at our Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) partner Infosys. Manage relationship with all Businesses (SMUs) for Performance Coatings in North America.
 
Specific Tasks:
- This role has a heavy emphasis on managing the P2P process E2E by being able to identify operational bottlenecks and develop solutions in accordance with the Global P2P Process.  A strong understanding of processes and systems is required and the ability to direct others in other functions (procurement, plant people, BPO and other AkzoNobel employees) to educate them on the correct procedures.
- Solve or coordinate with the BPO inquiries from vendors or the business.  Provide specific procedural guidance and education to business users or the BPO on the E2E process and how to enter and clear items in the SAP VIM workflow and other P2P systems.  A strong systems knowledge (prefer SAP or other big ERP) and the ability to trouble shoot independently is required.
- Provide General Ledger Account Coding when necessary and follow up for approver input independently or in coordination with the BPO.
- Review, approve and release all vendor payments in the AkzoNobel treasury Payment Factory SAP system in accordance with AkzoNobel payment policies.  Oversee and authorize manual payments in accordance with company policy.
- Assist in the management of the end-to-end (E2E) transactional process delivery (P2P) in line with defined quality and cost levels for the North American region for Business Area Performance Coatings (BPO provider) as set forth in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).  
- Drive change by identifying process improvements from an E2E perspective, work with various stakeholders to implement process and ERP enhancements.
- Manage the BPO team and develop a clear escalation path to resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently.  Develop a rapport and relationship with the BPO and open dialog to manage issues as partners.
- Develop and maintain transparent issue logs by P2P tower and stakeholder.  Identify conscience action plans and drive resolution of action plans to address issues identified.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role managing a transactional Shared Service Center in a large multinational company.
- Expert understanding of SAP Accounts Payable processes including SAP VIM.  Must be able to provide specific transactional direction to clerical employees / BPO / AkzoNobel business employees on the AP process and solve vendor issues and processing problems.
- Excellent understanding of “End to End” (E2E) process for “Purchase to Pay” (P2P) with a heavy focus on overall process improvement.  Must be able to recognize issues in SAP software and processes plus be able to recommend and drive solutions across departments.
- Strong rapport with business partners and the ability to diagnose, communicate and obtain buy in to the GBS culture and standard processes.
- Basic understanding of Unclaimed Property procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.  MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with various levels of the organization.
- Results-oriented and able to formulate solutions with a heavy focus on service delivery.
- Ability to prioritize work and drive results in a fast-paced high volume transactional environment.
- Able to measure relevant analytics and KPI information, draw conclusions and formulate actionable efficiencies.  
- Ability to build relationships with customers/stakeholders in a multi-national environment.
- Expert knowledge of Accounts Payable plus a general understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
- Ability to understand and improve processes outside of functional area (Procurement, Supply Chain, IM).
