AkzoNobel Inc.has an outstanding opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager.  The Accounts Payable Manager will act as a single point of contact/escalation for BPO and Regional Manager, Finance Services NA and ensure roles and responsibilities within end to end processes are understood and performed by the business and the BPO.

Indirectly manages all process towers (P2P, R2R & O2C) and FTEs at our Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) partner Infosys.   Manage relationship with all Businesses (SMUs) for Performance Coatings in North America. Other responsibilities include:
- Manage the end-to-end (E2E) transactional process delivery (P2P, O2C and R2R) in line with defined quality and cost levels for the North American region for Business Area Performance Coatings (BPO provider and retained Finance Services organization) as set forth in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Identify / resolve / escalate (operational) issues in transactions / processes executed by BPO and act as a problem solver for the North American region.
- Drive change by identifying process improvements from an E2E perspective, work with various stakeholders to implement process and ERP enhancements.
- Manage the BPO team and develop a clear escalation path to resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently.  Develop a rapport and relationship with the BPO and open dialog to manage issues as partners.
- Develop and maintain transparent issue logs by tower and stakeholder.  Identify conscience action plans and drive resolution of action plans to address issues identified. 
- Consolidate, propose and implement performance improvement actions in conjunction with internal customers and the BPO provider.
- Report the area metrics or KPIs to all stakeholders for the Shared Service Center (SSC).  Develop action plans and implement process improvements for KPIs below the standard SSC metrics.
- Act as the intermediary (liaison) between SMU, GBS & the BPO.
- Support the Transition Manager during any SMU / cluster / country transition and take responsibility for any sign-off transitions tollgates within area of responsibility.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role managing a transactional Shared Service Center in a large multinational company.
- Expert understanding of SAP Accounts Payable processes including SAP VIM.  Must be able to provide specific transactional direction to clerical employees / BPO on the AP process and solve vendor issues and processing problems.
- Excellent understanding of “End to End” (E2E) process for “Purchase to Pay” (P2P) with a heavy focus on overall process improvement.  Must be able to recognize issues in SAP software and processes plus be able to recommend and drive solutions across departments.
- Strong rapport with business partners and the ability to diagnose, communicate and obtain buy in to the GBS culture and standard processes.
- Basic understanding of Unclaimed Property procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.  MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Strong leadership and employee engagement skills.  Must be capable of managing a large remote professional and clerical staff.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with various levels of the organization.
