Our Coil and Extrusion Coatings business occupies a number one global position and enjoys strong relationships with top tier customers. Our Packaging Coatings business also leads globally in coatings for the inside of beverage containers.
Akzo Nobel Coatings has a full-time position available at our Columbus, Ohio facility as a Quality Control Technician.   The Quality Control Technician performs all QC and QA testing procedures specified or assigned, assuring compliance to all specifications and maintaining all associated records.  The QC Technician must be able to perform more complex calculations, may assist with customer complaints in-house, and may be present at line trails under supervision.  This is a salaried non-exempt position.
Quality Control Technician duties include the following:
- Perform all QC and QA test procedures specified for each product.
- Tint batches without assistance.
- Calculate resin composition.
- Maintain complete and accurate QC records.
- Prepare and record customer submissions.
- Address customer complaints under close supervision.
- Maintain a clean work station and all laboratory equipment, functioning within required safety guidelines.
- Perform equipment Calibration and Testing procedures as assigned.
- Use main computer system for input and manipulation.
- Increase knowledge and understanding of material cause and effect.
- Meet or exceed agreed upon and established goals.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have good organization and time management skills.
- Must have good Customer Service skills.
- Must pass a color test and company math test.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to wear of required safety equipment and protective clothing as required by law and/or corporate policy.  This might include, but is not limited to: safety shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, vapour and particulate respirators and safety gloves.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Must be able to tolerate solvent smells and other chemicals used in the manufacturing/testing of our products.
