Global Customer Financial Services Manager

The role and its responsibilities
This role can be based at the AkzoNobel Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands or in Felling, near Newcastle in the UK. You will lead a CFS team of 60-80 FTE while building a global CFS organization and performing or overseeing a wide range of activities.

Thus you lead multiple strategic projects with a strong focus on business need, continuous improvement, service excellence and budget control. In particular, you improve collection efficiency, DSO and working capital across the BA, setting overall improvement targets with the business and delivering improved cash flow. You will help drive the global standardization of O2C processes and tools. You also perform the daily management of global credit risk for the BA, and create and maintain standardized management information to both internal and external customers.

In order to achieve this you partner with GBS O2C Global Process Owner to identify and implement improvement opportunities, and you partner with the Global Service Delivery Manager to identify and implement solutions to improve outsourced process metrics. You also leverage and build a clear RACI relationship with all stakeholders (Infosys, Sales, Finance controllers etc.).

Further, you produce high quality analytics and continuously improve the team’s analytical capabilities. At the same time you lead the development, monitoring and improvement of credit policy, scoring, auto decision logic, credit and collections strategies, and provision models. In doing so you provide internal stakeholders with clear and consistent insight into the challenges and successes within accounts receivable.

This requires you to maintain a highly productive and motivated global organization based on the outstanding people management of regional CFS teams and utilizing effective management tools (performance measurement, skills assessment and training, process training, team work, global alignment and best practice sharing).

In addition you update and communicate credit management policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, proposing enhancements, and representing the function in senior forums.

As such, this is a role that demands full O2C end-to-end process knowledge and experience, along with experience of credit risk assessment at global, regional and country levels. It also demands a commercial focus and balanced decision making along with the highest standards of financial statement analysis and assessment.
