Job Context:
Execute, report and manage Product Safety and Regulatory support activities to AkzoNobel businesses and external customers with a focus on compliance with The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFFA).
Key Objectives/Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead support for Performance Coatings North America to be in compliance with The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).  Will focus on Marine and Specialty-Yacht coatings.  - Ensure compliance for AkzoNobel’s raw materials and products.  Identify potential non-compliances and areas of risk to the business.
- Submit new product registration, fees, and renewals to the EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) and State Government agencies.  Assist in response for data call-ins.  Validate data sources ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Identify and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of standard procedures. 
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant regulations.  Establish the impact of legislative changes on strategic market units and support team leaders in communicating legal requirements.
- Maintain and update electronic FIFRA records system.
- Communicate effectively both internally (other departments) and externally (customers, regulators, suppliers, trade associations).

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- University Degree or equivalent in scientific discipline.
- 1-3+ years of relevant industrial, government or university experience. 
- Knowledge of Product Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health laws and regulations.  Experience working with a quality management system (e.g. ISO9001:2008) desirable.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate data.  Must be able to produce clear and comprehensive reports making recommendations using the available data.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to pay attention to detail.
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 
- Must be fluent in English.
