Key Objective of the Job:
The Sign Finishes  Technical Service Representative  will provide technical customer support for our Western Region customer accounts.  This individual will assist in the sales and support activities as a member of the sales team. Will help contribute to sales and profit target achievements.

- In conjunction with the Sign sales team, insures that customers are properly trained on the use and application of AkzoNobel Sign products, services and equipment
- Performs technical analysis/audit with key customers.
- Participates as required on special customer projects such as system demonstrations for key prospects and troubleshooting for current customers.
- Assists in the testing, evaluation and introduction of new products.
- Actively participates in scheduled sales and support activities.
- Demonstrates expertise in paint application techniques and professional knowledge of sign finishing and technical problem solving.
- Demonstrates expert knowledge of Mixit and Color documentation tools and is able to instruct and educate customers to the appropriate level.
- Implements and assists in training and instruction for internal and external customers based on technical evaluations and market needs.
- Takes lead in educating the customer on the proper use of shop equipment such as spray guns, booths, compressors, etc.
- Delivers assigned services, which include but are not limited to audit and certification of paint warranty, Programmed System Techniques (PSTs), equipment maintenance and updating color documentation.
- Completes all monthly reports and assignments in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintains monthly calendar on Outlook and clearly communicates priorities and activities to sales team.
- Works with Technical Manager to educate customers regarding governmental and AkzoNobel Safety standards.
- Maintains assigned company equipment in safe and proper manner.  Assists in implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety procedures. 
- Performs other duties as assigned.


This will be remote based position requiring heavy travel (road warrior 90% travel commitment), with the ideal candidate being based out of Dallas/Fort Worth but we will also consider a candidate based in Denver, Colorado. Region coverage includes - Texas, Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Chicago and Southern California.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 year sales experience in the coatings industry. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college preferred. • Paint applications experience in an Industrial Manufacturing Environment (Sign Manufacturing) preferred. 
• Ability to travel 90% of the time, including attendance at occasional weekend trade conferences.
• Excellent communication, presentation and sales skills required
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Power Point.
• Strong interpersonal skills, driven and self-starter.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
