Key Objectives of the Job
• Manage all sales related activities for Ethylene Amine customers in the Americas, driving and maximizing profitability in accordance with the overall business strategy
• Manage packaged inventory levels at our warehouses to achieve reductions in OWC in accordance with the business strategy
• Contribute to OWC reductions by strictly enforcing policies related to collection of invoice payments from customers
• Gather, organize & report customer, market and application intelligence to help steer the overall business strategy
• Develop and grow sales opportunities by acquiring detailed, intimate knowledge of customer applications, market trends, and the product’s “value in use”.
• Recognize opportunities and promote the ideas enthusiastically upward throughout the organization.

• Overall account planning and margin management activities (e.g. pricing, product mix) for customers in North and South America
• Developing sales forecasts at product/customer level
• Gather, organize & report customer, market and application information/intelligence for management
• Having full responsibility for collection of overdue for every customer
• Coordinate and manage US packaged goods inventories at our warehouses
• Developing customer quotations and supporting material
• Working cooperation with CSR (e.g. Order Management, pricing, preparing quotations & price schedules, solving issues)
• Handling interactions with supply chain to ensure customers receive their orders in time
• Managing sales through distribution by:
o Coordinating Inventory in two US warehouses with Supply Chain.
o Joint visits with distributors to end-customers
o Providing quarterly price schedules
o Regular updates on market conditions
• Participating in internal projects (Regulatory Affairs, Margin Management, Supply Chain)
• Developing an intimate relationship with customers at various levels of their organization… Business Management, Marketing and Sales, Research & Development, Production, etc. in order to develop a complete picture of the business development opportunity.
• Developing application intelligence to understand the whats, hows and whys of the business opportunity. Speaking the customer’s language is a must.
• Gathering industry intelligence by establishing relationships with consultants and attending conferences where technical presentations are given.
• Developing relationships across AkzoNobel’s regional businesses to leverage a) personnel experiences and application intelligence, b) laboratory and product development equipment and expertise, and c) manufacturing capacity.
• Recognizing opportunities for patenting new products, ideas, and/or concepts by working closely with AkzoNobel’s IP department to see that AkzoNobel’s business interests are protected.

Sales responsibilities are approximately 3000mt/yr and 7-8 Million USD

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry
• 3-4 years of Sales experience with focus on Business Development
• Must have a strong general chemistry knowledge
• Must be open to travel 30-40% of the time. Role covers the Americas (North and South)
