This is a remote position that can be based out of any US city within close proximity to a major airport.

Key Objectives of the Job:
The role of the Key Account Manager(KAM) is the critical link between the strategic distribution customer and AkzoNobel. Fundamental to this role is anticipating and understanding the customer needs, and liaising and advocating within AkzoNobel to manage and satisfy those needs, at reasonable economic cost to AkzoNobel. The KAM for strategic distribution will assist in building capability and resources to meet and exceed mutual growth objectives. The KAM reports to the VRNA Sales Leader, Distribution.

Responsibilities:
1. Relationship Management – Develop and build relationships amongst the senior leadership, including the President, CEO, VP, PBE, Director and the Regional VPs. Develop a 3 X 3 relationship management plan involving key team members at AkzoNobel to secure solid long term connections with customer.

2. Strategic Business Plan – Development with of a strategic business plan process which enables the growth objectives of both customer and AkzoNobel. This plan should include:

• Annual growth targets
• Regional plans
• Organizational development objectives
• Training and learning objectives
• Pipeline planning and development
• Resource deployment
• Market prioritization
• New markets

3. Strategic Sales Integration – Integrate sales activities into a working sales process. Ideally, this includes support and development of customer’s sales organization.

• The individual will be required to have a bachelor’s degree and experience in managing key or complex accounts is mandatory.
• Basic distribution and logistics background
