A skilled retail buyer with experience of developing category strategies you are looking to develop your career in a business that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. That business is AkzoNobel. Home to world class products including the Dulux Super Brand, Sikkens and Cuprinol, we’re looking for a category management professional to source the right products at the right prices for our customers and drive commercial performance.
As Category Buyer you will ensure we stock the products our customers want by defining the category strategy and leading the range review process. You will engage key suppliers to maximise the effectiveness of our third party supplier relationships as well as negotiate terms. You will collaborate with brand teams to drive the performance of own brand products and activation in-store and online. You will also develop a promotional programme to deliver against targets. We will also look to you to evaluate performance and opportunities to improve performance.

You must have a background in retail buying and experienced in developing category strategies. Highly customer focussed you will be commercially astute, highly analytical and able to think strategically as well as operate tactically. A good project manager you will be good at delegating and meeting deadlines. You will also possess strong communication and negotiating skills. You will be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivers on commitments too.
