Buying Assistant
£19,000 – 27,000 + 25days holiday, pension, flexible benefits & staff discounts
Experienced in retail administration and with a passion for buying you are looking to develop your career in a business that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. That business is AkzoNobel. Home to world class products including Dulux, Sikkens and Cuprinol, we’re looking for a committed professional to support our commercial team, and in particular, category managers source the right products for our customers.
As a Buying Assistant you will oversee the administration of the product lifecycle, including new supplier set up, new line listing and price file management. You will build a strong relationship with our store support team acting as the main point of contact for any store queries as well as work with our Digital Trading Manager to ensure that products are well presented online. You will also work with internal and external stakeholders to manage the critical path and ensure the smooth day to day running of the category function. Important will be the ability to collate sales reports and analysis as well as competitor and market insight to support range reviews and pricing strategies.

You must have a background in retail administration and a strong desire to build a career in buying. Comfortable managing a busy workload you are able to prioritise multiple tasks effectively and thrive in a fast paced environment. You will have an eye for detail as well as strong communication and relationship management skills. You will also be proficient in MSOffice. You will be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivers on commitments too.
