HSE Manager
Stowmarket, Suffolk
Salary circa £42,000 - £48,000 plus an attractive benefits package

We are searching for an experienced HSE specialist with a background in production engineering to oversee / support line managers, implement our HSE strategy as well as champion a HSE culture and drive continuous improvement within our business.
Role description
As HSE Manager you will guide line managers to develop and implement HSE policies, plans and practices, in line with corporate procedures and relevant regulatory requirements. The role is based at our site in Stowmarket, Suffolk, which is one of our leading production sites most notably for the brands Dulux and Cuprinol.
As well as ensuring compliance you will support the business, set the safety culture and manage hazards. We will look to you to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that deliver upgraded company performance. You will also use your HSE expertise to coach and share learning to enhance HSE capability within the business. In addition, you will use your knowledge to contribute to the development of our overall HSE strategy site and HSE Improvement Plan.
The successful candidate will work with the external certifying body to maintain ISO14001 EMS. Whether assisting in incident and crisis management, participating in accident/incident investigation or overseeing HSE auditing programme you will ensure we operate to exceptional HSE standards.
The person we are looking for
As a graduate in HSE or engineering or a relevant science discipline you will have a strong understanding of the legislation and compliance needs around HSE issues, and ideally hold a relevant HSE qualification e.g.: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
You must have extensive experience as a chartered health and safety professional. Good communication skills with people, at all levels in the organisation, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to encourage line managers and departments to take responsibility for HSE standards and values. You will be an ambassador of change and be able to demonstrate continuous improvement delivery and an understanding of HSE certified management systems. You will be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivers on commitments.
What you will receive in return
Salary circa £42,000 - £48,000 depending on experience, plus an impressive benefits package including, 10% bonus potential and defined contribution pension scheme (up to 12% company contribution).
