The Logistics Manager   contributes to the execution of the sales -, expense - and profitability targets established by the SMU within the allocated region by developing, deploying and optimizing the logistics and warehouse strategy for the SMU, based on business demand and maximizing the synergy with the regional AN logistics and warehousing strategy and infrastructure.
 
Specific Tasks
·         Captures and analyzes the logistic and warehousing requirements and service levels of the (regional) SMU and inputs those into the overall AkzoNobel logistics and warehouse strategy development
·         Represents the SMU in the definition and decision making processes on the logistics and warehouse solutions to fulfil the SMU requirements and servie levels at the lowest possible costs
·         Prepares and manages the yearly budget for logistics and warehousing
·         Analyzes the functioning of logistics and warehouse processes, procedures and develops and implements improvement plans
·         Monitors the facilities and services and initiates regional improvement projects
·         Regularly provides information on logistics dashboard to the SMU Operations Director and SMU regional management teams
·         Participates in AN and SMU Logistics and warehousing projects.
·         Facilitates and advises on the most efficient and economical routing and form of transportation and determines ways of generating cost savings and delivery & return flow efficiencies.
·         Monitors customer satisfaction and service level and takes corrective measures when required.
·         Actively participates in the investigation of and reporting on customer complaints that relate to inefficiencies and/or mistakes in the field of logistics and transportation.
·         Works closely with International Distribution Centers’ related functions (Order Entry, Color Mixing, Purchasing, etc.) to ensure optimal economical services and contract drafts for the SMU.
·         Develops supports and leads a consistent service improvement and exchange of best practices at predefined and controlled cost.
·         Spends a relevant amount with customers to acquire direct input from the market and proposes improvement initiatives in line with customer requirements.
·         Be aware of all specific regulatory aspects of logistics and warehousing related to all products and ensure compliance.
·         Monitor and secure export control compliance
·         Be familiar with all applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/HSE standards and acts in compliance with all regulations.

Requirements
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or equivalent
·         5 years Supply chain experience in an international environment
·         3 years Management experience in an international environment
·         3 years SAP/ERP experience
·         Good Communications skills
