Responsibility

With an A-level or equivalent in a Science subject and some lab experience you are looking to develop your career in a company that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. That business is AkzoNobel. We’re now looking for a Technician to join our R&D Solutions team and undertake routine lab tasks in support of short term development projects in our Metal Coatings business.
 
As Solutions Technician you will p lan and organise your workload, preparing lacquer samples and coated panels and cans for evaluation. You will carry out mechanical and chemical testing using established test methods and procedures, ensuring you operate to the highest safety standards. You will accurately record results and communicate findings to stakeholders. You will also ensure stocks of chemicals, samples, metal substrate and lab consumables are maintained.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

You must have an A-level or equivalent in a Science subject coupled with excellent practical and laboratory skills. A good communicator you will be good at writing reports and have the ability to tabulate test findings. You will be a proficient user of MSOffice and effective at working as part of a team and meeting deadlines. Previous work experience in a laboratory environment would be an advantage.
